Part-Time Prep-Cook / Dishwasher
Shift: 12 PM - 8:30 PM (two days per week)

Compensation: $20.58/hour


What Does the Prep-Cook and Dishwasher Do?
The Prep Cook supports the kitchen team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining exceptional cleanliness and food safety standards. This role is responsible for preparing ingredients, supporting meal service, and ensuring all kitchen and dishwashing tasks are completed efficiently and hygienically. The Prep Cook interacts with all front and back-of-house staff in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Line Cook and Executive Chef with food preparation, including portioning, chopping, measuring, mixing, and storing ingredients.
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes and presentation standards.
  • Clean and sanitize dishes, cutlery, pots, pans, and glassware.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workstations; wash and disinfect surfaces, tools, knives, and equipment.
  • Ensure all food handling complies with Food Safe standards and internal food preparation checklists.
  • Perform opening and closing kitchen duties, including set-up and clean-up of workstations and dining areas.
  • Support catering and special event food preparation and service.
  • Monitor kitchen supplies and notify Chef of shortages.
  • Empty garbage and recycling; handle soiled linens and rags appropriately.
  • Operate dishwashing equipment, ensuring proper temperature and function throughout the day.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and kitchen sanitation.
  • May be required to hold the call bell phone from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements/Certification Requirements:
  • Previous prep cook experience in a high- volume kitchen an asset.
  • Food Safe - Level I and WHMIS Certificates required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities/Experience Requirements:
  • Demonstrates good judgement, problem solving, time management, practical and technical skills in food preparation and service.
  • Ability of meeting the physical requirements of the position.
  • Comfortable working both independently and with a team toward common goals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Self-motivated and exhibits a strong desire for personal growth.
