Overview

Reliability Engineering Co-Op position summary and primary focus: supporting the Engineering department to establish a Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) culture and improve equipment performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Researches, develops and implements processes and procedures necessary to establish a Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) culture to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Support on new tools and methods to make the maintenance group more reliability-focused and proactive.
  • Report on KPIs that represent the performance of the maintenance systems and assets.
  • Support work execution management elements, including MRO spares, PM optimization, Bill of Materials, and CMMS readiness.
  • Implements maintenance optimization reviews of each asset's criticality, functional importance and duty cycle and establishes best-practice maintenance activities required to detect early signs of functional failures.
  • Develops the use of asset criticality matrix and spare parts criticality analysis ranking tools.
  • Development and maintenance of online database of all projects.
  • Provide clerical support for project specifications.
  • Supports Lean 5S project initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma/GED. Working towards a University degree or college diploma in an Engineering or trades program. Chemical program is preferred.
  • 8-12 month commitment period is an essential requirement.
  • Experience: Requires no previous Reliability Engineering experience. Experience in Engineering, Maintenance or Facilities in a manufacturing company is preferred. Equivalency: Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to prioritize multiple projects, work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and presentation skills. Must be able to work well with limited supervision. Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Proficiency with the English language.
