Hours: 37.5 hours per week


Shifts: Day

Status: Temporary Full-time

Position Summary

Working under the direction of the Swallowing Rehabilitation Research Laboratory Manager, the Research Analyst will primarily assist with collection, analysis and data processing associated with videofluoroscopies (dynamic swallowing x-ray recordings) collected for research. Excellent communication skills are required for regular participation in team discussions. Assistance with other lab projects may include, pending time and interest, literature reviews, support for data collection, and preparation of conference presentations and manuscripts.



Duties

  • Analysis of videofluoroscopies (dynamic swallowing x-rays) according to a standard protocol
  • Participation in team discussions to explore analysis of videofluoroscopy
  • Provide assistance with data management in electronic platforms (e.g., data entry and pulling reports, source data verification)
  • Build and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support data collection as time permits (e.g., preparing stimuli, collecting data, entering data)
  • Perform quality checks on data


Qualifications

  • Completion of a Bachelors Degree is required
  • At minimum, 3 years of related experience is required
  • Knowledge of speech-language pathology, swallowing anatomy and physiology, or experience with videofluoroscopic swallowing studies is an asset
  • Familiarity/experience with data processing software (e.g., Excel, MATLAB)
  • Familiarity/experience with data entry platforms (e.g., REDCap, iMedidata)
  • Familiarity with privacy requirements in context of Personal Health Information (PHI)
  • Willingness to learn new skills and confidence in requesting guidance or support when questions arise
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal communication skills
  • Good time-management and organizational skills
  • Familiarity of IDEAA (inclusivity, diversity, equity, accessibility and anti-racism)
  • Willingness to commit to on-site work in downtown Toronto 4-days per week
