Responsibilities

  1. Conduct Commercial Mid-Market risk control assessments, evaluations, consulting, and technical support for prospective, new, and renewal business.
  2. Perform workplace/work site risk evaluations and consultative risk improvements, providing risk recommendations for underwriting, including solutions to minimize risk.
  3. Collaborate with senior risk control staff to assess program needs and implement customized strategies.
  4. Partner with underwriting and other departments to provide information for risk evaluation, including reviewing accounts for operational issues, claims, profitability, and agency management.
  5. Perform root cause loss analysis, rating, and trending for key accounts.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.
  7. Conduct training and education programs.
  8. Identify opportunities for new products and services.
  9. Provide expertise in specialty areas as needed.
  10. Manage special projects and presentations as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  1. Technical expertise in risk control evaluation, assessment skills, and knowledge of insurance principles and practices.
  2. Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  3. Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  4. Ability to work independently and exercise judgment in decision-making.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other business software.
  6. Willingness and ability to travel extensively.
  7. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; professional designations preferred.
  8. Minimum of 3-5 years of risk control experience with proven results.
