About the Project
Pape Tunnel Underground Stations (PTUS), a vital segment of the Ontario Line, enhances connectivity, reduces congestion, and supports sustainable growth in Toronto. Webuild, in joint venture, leads this project—constructing 3.2 km of tunnel using advanced technology and two underground stations designed for future capacity, safety, accessibility, and seamless integration with Toronto’s transit network. About the Job
The Risk Manager working in collaboration with the project stakeholders will be responsible for identifying, assessing and evaluating potential project risks and assess their impact upon the project objectives. Risk Managers will be custodians of the Project risk register; work with project team to promote joint risk evaluation and identify appropriate mitigation actions; and provide input to QCRA/QSRA process .
The potential candidate will also be expected to develop and implement risk management practices, as well as train employees on risk management assessments. The project Risk Manager will be required to work in collaboration from time to time in participating at the insurance engineers professional site audit meetings and to provide his/her support.
What You Will Be Doing?
- Develop and implement project risk management policies and procedures and assure they are implemented in the work method statements
- Analyze and evaluate potential risks and hazards, and develop strategies with project team in how to mitigate them
- Conduct risk assessments and identify areas of potential risk (technical, management, construction, design, environmental, natural hazards, etc.
- Develop with project stakeholders risk mitigation plans
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to risk management in accordance to ISO 31000 Risk Management Guidelines
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of risk management strategies
- As needed, provide training and support to staff on risk management best practices
- Stay current with emerging trends and developments in risk management
- Aware of the LEG Clauses for tunnel work
What We Are Looking For?
- Written and verbal communication skills in English
- Bachelor's degree in one or more of the following fields; Engineering, finance, economics, business administration, or a related field
- 10 years’ experience with at least 5 years’ experience in leading the risk management program for a major capital heavy civil works construction project.
- Strong asset: Experience with rapid rail and transit risk including developing the risk register for tunneling activities and station construction.
- Experience in implementing risk management strategies and processes
- Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), or other relevant certifications
- Ability to identify and assess potential risks (particularly for tunnel work) and develop with project stakeholders risk mitigation measures
- Proficiency in risk management software and tools
