Role Description:
• The SAP BusinessObjects Developer will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of Business Intelligence (BI) solutions using the SAP BusinessObjects platform.
• This role involves collaborating with business stakeholders, data analysts, and other IT teams to translate business requirements into effective and efficient reporting and analytical applications.
Required Skill Set:
• BI Solution Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain SAP BusinessObjects Universes (using Information Design Tool (IDT) and Universe Design Tool (UDT)), reports (Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports), and dashboards (SAP Lumira, Design Studio, SAP Analytics Cloud).
• Create complex reports with functionalities such as queries, slice and dice, drill-down, variables, breaks, sorting, and filters.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to extract and transform data from various source systems (e.g., SAP BW, SAP ECC, Oracle, SQL Server, Salesforce).
• Implement data models and data structures in SAP HANA (if applicable) and integrate data from diverse sources.
• Design and implement ETL processes using SAP Data Services (BODS/BODI) for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
• Utilize BusinessObjects Data Quality (BODQ) and Information Steward (BOIS) for data quality and governance.
• Requirement Analysis and Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders and analysts to gather, understand, and document business requirements for reporting and analytics.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications and design documents.
• Collaborate with other developers, IT teams, and functional consultants to ensure seamless integration and data consistency.
• Performance Optimization and Support: Analyze and optimize the performance of Universes, reports, and dashboards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, defects, and performance bottlenecks in SAP BusinessObjects applications.
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing BI solutions.
• Conduct unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) of developed solutions.
• Documentation and Training: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, data mappings, and test plans.
• Prepare training manuals and provide training and support to end-users to enhance their understanding and utilization of BI tools.
• Best Practices and Continuous Improvement: Adhere to best practices for SAP BusinessObjects development, data warehousing, and BI solutions.
• Proactively monitor and identify areas for improvement in data flow, data quality, and reporting processes.
• Stay updated with the latest SAP BI trends, technologies, and releases.
