Role Description:
• We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical SAS Developer with significant modeling experience to join our dynamic team.
• The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and maintaining statistical models and analytical solutions using SAS.
• This role requires a strong background in SAS programming, a deep understanding of statistical modeling techniques, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
Required Skill Set:
• Model Development & Implementation: Design, develop, and implement various statistical and machine learning models (e.g., predictive models, regression models, classification models, time series models, segmentation models) using SAS.
• Work with large and complex datasets to build, validate, and deploy models.
• Ensure models are robust, scalable, and meet business objectives.
• SAS Programming & Data Manipulation: Develop, maintain, and optimize complex SAS programs (Data Step, PROC SQL, Macros) for data extraction, transformation, loading (ETL), and data quality checks.
• Extract and manipulate data from various sources (e.g., data warehouses, relational databases, flat files) to prepare it for analysis and modeling.
• Utilize advanced SAS procedures (e.g., PROC GLM, PROC LOGISTIC, PROC ARIMA, PROC DMREG, PROC HPSPLIT, PROC SQL, PROC REPORT, PROC MEANS, PROC FREQ) for statistical analysis and reporting.
• Data Analysis & Feature Engineering: Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies.
• Conduct feature engineering to create new variables and improve model performance.
• Understand and address data quality issues relevant to modeling.
• Model Validation & Monitoring: Rigorously validate models using appropriate statistical techniques (e.g., cross-validation, out-of-sample testing).
• Develop and implement processes for ongoing model monitoring, performance tracking, and recalibration.
• Document model specifications, methodology, and validation results comprehensively.
• Reporting & Visualization: Develop and automate SAS-based reports and dashboards to visualize model performance and key analytical insights.
• Present complex analytical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders clearly and concisely.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with business analysts, data scientists, IT teams, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver effective analytical solutions.
• Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to best practices for SAS development and modeling.
• Documentation & Best Practices: Maintain thorough documentation of SAS programs, data dictionaries, model methodologies, and project deliverables.
• Adhere to coding standards and best practices for maintainability, readability, and performance
