<p><p>Pay or shift range: $83,395.20 CAD to $98,112 CAD. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.</p><h3><b>Overview and Purpose of the Role</b></h3>
<p>Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Senior Accountant is responsible for end-to-end financial reporting. This includes, but not limited to, end-to-end month-end close, journal entries, general ledger reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, financial statement preparation and report presentation. The successful candidate will have significant accounting experience in the end-to-end processes for month-end close, financial systems, financial report generation and presentation, balance sheet reconciliations and journal entry processing. The position requires an individual who is ambitious, self-directed, and capable of working autonomously or with the boarder finance and leadership team.</p>
<h3><b>Key Duties & Responsibilities:</b></h3>
<ul>
<li>Perform month-end close procedures, including journal entries, accruals and reconciliations</li>
<li>Produce monthly financial statements in line with the timelines for completion</li>
<li>Collaborate with the clinical teams to understand the intricacies of procedures and ensure accurate cost allocation. Prepare and analyze case costing to support decision-making</li>
<li>Work closely with Accounts Payable and Procurement to ensure the completeness and accuracy of accruals</li>
<li>Work closely with Accounts Receivable Clerk to ensure reconciliations of physician billings are completed timely and reported accurately and completely</li>
<li>Prepare monthly reporting and remittances for HST</li>
<li>Support the annual financial audit process by preparing audit schedules, addressing audit inquiries, and ensuring all required documentation is available</li>
<li>Assist in the development and implementation of policies, priorities, and procedures to streamline day to day financial operations</li>
<li>Support ad hoc projects and assignments as assigned</li>
</ul>
<h3><b>Corporate Responsibilities:</b></h3>
<ul>
<li>Participate in all mandatory training requirements and work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, company Policies and Procedures, as well as established industry guidelines</li>
</ul>
<h3><b>Skills & Qualifications:</b></h3>
<ul>
<li>Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Commerce or related discipline.</li>
<li>Chartered Professional Accountant designation is considered an asset</li>
<li>Previous experience in healthcare is considered an asset</li>
<li>3-5 years’ experience in full-cycle accounting</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li>
<li>Highly detail-oriented and organized</li>
<li>Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines</li>
<li>Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees</li>
<li>Superior analytical and problem-solving skills</li>
<li>Previous experience working with Meditech is considered an asset</li>
<li>Advanced knowledge of MS Office with emphasis on Excel (Pivot table, VLOOKUPs, and other formulas)</li>
<li>Strong understanding of accounting principles (ASNPO)</li>
<li>Maintains a high level of confidentiality and professional discretion</li>
<li>Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)</li>
<li>Satisfactory passing of a criminal record check and vulnerable sector check</li>
<li>Ability to provide proof of immunization and TB records</li>
</ul>
