About the Company – Mier Recruitment is hiring!About the Role – Our client in Halton Region, ON is actively looking for a Senior Buyer to join their team.Responsibilities -Procurement responsibilities for new and existing products, including price, schedule, supplier selection, documentation write-up & terms and conditionsManaging suppliers critical path delivery requirements in support of key program milestonesProficiency to perform and comprehend price and cost analysis, source selection/justification, analysis of supplier quotationPurchase of electronic components, electronic assemblies and other assigned commodities as requiredProviding regular status updates of material availability and shortages as required to meet engineering and production schedulesEstablishing and maintaining critical working relationships with Material Planning, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance and Quality Assurance functional business areasIssuing RFIs, RFQs/quotes, conduct bid analysis, down select suppliers, and award purchase orders supporting a high mix of different commodity types within a diversified product portfolioDeveloping and maintaining virtual PO folio file documentation requirements with a high degree of business ethics and integrityNegotiations (supplier price, delivery, and exceptions to purchase order flow downs, i.e., Terms and Conditions)Participating and driving supplier development and management activity to achieve consistent cost reductions with leveraged buying strategiesComplete and total cost of ownership of the portfolio being managedExperience in Strategic Sourcing; (EMS preferred)Qualifications – Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing or equivalent with a minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in procurement and supply chain management in a large-scale manufacturing environment.

Professional APICS and/or ASCM certification an asset.Required Skills -Experience in JDE will be a strong assetAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and specificationsProficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word) and possess Advanced Excel SkillsPower BI would be considered an assetStrong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with internal customers and suppliersAnalytical mindset with a proactive approachKnowledge of electrical product commodities is desiredD.O.D. procurement experience and knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS) as well as International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) is a plusPay range and compensation package – Salary: $85,000 – $90,000/year.
