<p><p><b>Senior Financial Analyst, Inventory Accounting - 4 Months</b></p></p> <p>Employment Type</p> <p>Contract</p> <p>Location</p> <p>TORONTO, Ontario</p> Apply SHARE THIS JOB <br/> <p><p><b>Job Description:</b></p></p> <p>Our client, is a major national retailer looking for a Senior Financial Analyst for their Inventory Accounting team to join them on a 4 month contract. The role is hybrid with in office 4 days a week in office located at Yonge and Eglinton and 1 day work from home.</p><p>Reporting to the Manager, Inventory Accounting the Senior Financial Analyst will be an essential part of the Accounting team. </p> <p><b>Key Responsibilities Include:</b></p>
<li>Prepare and review significant analyses, entries and reconciliations as part of the monthly financial reporting process for enterprise inventory, shrink, freight costs, vendor funds, transportation and obsolescence provisions</li>
<li>Ensure financial results are in compliance with IFRS and provide accurate and timely reports and analysis to management on a monthly basis</li>
<li>Investigate and analyze significant variances, key metrics and business trends and present findings to Senior Financial Analyst and Manager</li>
<li>Looking at Cost of Goods Sold and how it impacts the Balance Sheet</li>
<li>Analyze the impact of business contracts and/or regulatory and accounting changes to processes and controls</li>
<li>Understand and execute accounting and reporting models and processes </li>
<li>Effectively communicate and build relationships with business partners, accounting and internal and external auditors</li>
<li>Execute and maintain documentation controls</li> <p>TMGCT</p> <p><p><b>Job Requirements:</b></p></p> <p><b>Must Have:</b></p>
<li>University degree in Accounting or Finance </li>
<li>CPA designation or working towards designation </li>
<li>Minimum of 5+ year experience in Accounting or Finance</li>
<li>Retail industry experience is a strong asset</li>
<li>Working knowledge of IFRS</li>
<li>Familiarity with internal and external audit processes is a strong asset</li>
<li>Advanced level Excel skills</li>
<li>Large ERP system experience, Oracle PeopleSoft and Hyperion (HFM) are an asset</li>
<li>Detail oriented with strong diagnostics and analytical skills</li>
<li>Strong problem solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills; able to see the ”big picture” in a complex business environment and a natural curiosity to understand the reason behind transactions</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships</li> Apply
