This role requires deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Fortinet firewalls, VMware environments, Veeam backups, Microsoft 365, and enterprise security tools. This position requires mandatory participation in after-hours work, including responding to urgent security incidents and critical infrastructure issues.</p><p><strong>What to expect in the role</strong></p><p><strong>Network & Systems Infrastructure: </strong>Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including Fortinet firewalls, switches, routers, and VPN connections.<strong> </strong>Serve as a trusted system administrator for Microsoft 365, Active Directory, hybrid cloud, and on-prem environments, Azure, and SAML authentication.</p><p><strong>Cybersecurity & Risk Management: </strong>Implement and oversee cybersecurity programs, including Incident Response Plans (IRP) and Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP).<strong> </strong>Respond to cybersecurity incidents and ensure compliance with industry security standards, including the application of Zero Trust principles.</p><p><strong>Backup, Virtualization & Core Platforms: </strong>Administer backup, virtualization, and storage systems, including Veeam, VMware, NAS, RingCentral VOIP, and asset management platforms.</p><p><strong>After-Hours & Emergency Support/Travel Requirements: </strong>Must be available for after-hours work to support emergencies, outages, and security incidents.<strong> </strong>Travel across our western Canadian branches may be required periodically.</p><p><strong>Monitoring, Automation & IT Operations: </strong>Utilize RMM (Remote Monitoring & Management) tools and ticketing systems to monitor, manage, and resolve IT issues efficiently.<strong> </strong>Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation workflows to streamline IT operations.</p><p><strong>End-User & Branch Support: </strong>Provide end-user technical support and mentor junior IT staff.<strong> </strong>Support remote branch offices, including network connectivity, endpoint management, and remote troubleshooting.</p><p><strong>Infrastructure Ownership & Operational Support: </strong>Take ownership of critical IT infrastructure, including backups, network systems, communications, and cybersecurity incidents.<strong> </strong>Provide ongoing operational support, including monitoring, patching, maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation.</p><p><strong>Projects & Continuous Improvement: </strong>Plan and execute IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new technology deployments.</p><p><strong>Ideal candidate profile</strong></p><p>• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.</p><p>• 5+ years of IT administration experience, preferably in a multi-site environment.</p><p>• Mandatory: Extensive hands-on experience with Fortinet firewalls, switches, and VPN configurations.</p><p>• Mandatory: Must be willing and able to work after hours as required, including responding to critical incidents.</p><p>• Experience supporting remote branches and multi-site IT environments.</p><p>• Proven ability to work independently, manage priorities, and take ownership of complex IT projects.</p><p>• Experience with VMware, Veeam, Microsoft 365, and enterprise-scale network infrastructure.</p><p>• Familiarity with RMM tools and ticketing systems for IT service management.</p><p>• Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, incident response, and disaster recovery.</p><p>• Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical problem-solving skills.</p><p><strong>Our Core Values: Celebrating the Past, Empowering the Future</strong></p><p>Teamwork & Collaboration | Integrity| Commitment | Reliability | Initiative | Continuous Improvement</p><p><em>We thank all applicants for their interest.
