Background
Myticas Consulting’s direct partner is undertaking the development and implementation of an Enterprise Terminology Services Redesign and Training package. This initiative is intended to prepare staff for go-live, enhance downstream operations, and support standardization and interoperability across digital health assets in the province.
Project Objectives
The successful candidate will:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop a comprehensive transition and training plan for Enterprise Terminology Services.
- Deliver high-quality training resources that are accessible for independent learning and trainer-led facilitation.
- Support operational readiness and knowledge transfer throughout the engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct current state assessments and gap analyses.
- Develop and document end-to-end workflows and procedures to support the Digital Health Standards Program.
- Research and incorporate best practices in terminology services and tooling.
- Develop and deliver engaging adult learning materials compatible with Ontario Health’s Learning Management System (e.g., Articulate Storyline).
- Produce fact sheets and other communication aids to raise awareness and support change management efforts.
- Deliver hands-on training for tools such as Ontoserver.
- Participate in knowledge transfer activities, including walkthroughs, demos, and documentation handover.
Required Experience and Skills
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Public Sector Experience: Required.
- 10+ years in adult learning, instructional design, and/or technical e-learning development.
- 10–15 years of experience in digital health standards and initiatives.
- 10+ years of experience with digital exchange standards, including FHIR and clinical terminologies (e.g., SNOMED CT, LOINC).
- 10+ years implementing terminology services and related solutions.
- Experience performing current state assessments and gap analysis.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written), with demonstrated partner engagement abilities.
- Excellent time management and project prioritization skills.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft products, particularly Microsoft Office 365 and cloud-based tools.
- Background in web and graphic design.
- Experience with terminology asset management tools (e.g., Apelon DTS, TermWorks, Ontoserver, Shrimp).
- Knowledge of pan-Canadian digital exchange standards and terminology technologies.
- Familiarity with Ontario’s healthcare information systems.
Educational Background:
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
