Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Linux Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our technical team in Brampton. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Linux systems, excellent communication skills, and a strong ability to troubleshoot, monitor, and support mission-critical applications. This role requires close coordination with vendors and internal technical teams to ensure seamless operations and high system availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert-level support for Linux-based systems and infrastructure.
- Perform advanced OS-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Monitor system performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
- Configure and maintain system software and applications.
- Collaborate with application teams to support deployment and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for technical escalations and issue resolution.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science, IT, or related field).
- Proven experience as a Linux SME or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Linux OS internals, shell scripting, and system administration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Netcool, Zabbix, Prometheus).
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as RHCE. RHEL Certified
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
