Senior Test Automation Engineer – Immediate requirement

Requirement:
Looking for a Sr. Test Automation Engineer with skills in Java, SQL and will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing automated test suites for applications and systems. This role requires hands-on experience in Java scripting, SQL database testing and test automation frameworks like Appium, TestNG and Cypress Framework. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and will be involved in test planning, execution, defect management, and Agile ceremonies.
This role is for a highly technical Quality Engineer who enjoys building automated test solutions, optimizing testing processes, and working in Agile teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Automation & Development:
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated test suites using Java with Appium & Cypress Automation Frameworks.
- Create and optimize test scripts to improve automation coverage.
- Perform database testing using SQL, ensuring data integrity and correctness.
- Perform both Web based and mobile applications.
Test Planning & Execution:
- Create test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on requirement documents and business user stories.
- Execute both manual and automated test cases, document test results, and report defects as necessary.
- Conduct end-to-end (E2E) and integration testing for system validation.
- Participate in defect triage meetings and Scrum ceremonies (Sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives).
Defect & Test Management:
- Log and triage defects, ensuring proper resolution in coordination with development team & product teams.
- Work with JIRA, Confluence, and QMetry for test case management, defect tracking, and test reporting.
Technical Expertise:
- 8+ years of experience in Java scripting and test automation.
- Hands-on on SQL, including writing queries for database validation and data integrity checks.
- Knowledge of Cypress Framework (good to have but not mandatory).
- Experience in manual and automated testing, including functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
- Hands-on and exposure with test automation tools and frameworks.
