<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><b>About the Job: </b>We are seeking an <b>Senior Release Train Engineer (RTE)</b> with a strong background in <b>Scrum Mastery, Release Management, and DevOps enablement</b> to support a fast-paced retail delivery environment. This role will act as the <b>central delivery and release orchestrator</b>, ensuring seamless coordination across Agile teams, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders.<br /></p><p>The RTE will drive <b>complex releases</b> by enabling automation, improving flow through CI/CD pipelines, and enforcing release governance—while providing transparency to leadership on delivery health, risks, and release readiness.<br /></p><p><br /></p><p><b>Office Location: </b>Toronto<br /></p><p><b>Employment Type: </b>Permanent<br /></p><p><b>Role Type:</b> New position – current requirement<br /></p><p><b>Work Arrangement: </b>Hybrid<br /></p><p><b>Position Responsibilities:</b><br /></p><p>· Serve as <b>Senior Release Train Engineer</b>, driving alignment, flow, and execution across multiple Agile teams<br /></p><p>Taking ownership of managing complex releases across all teams<br /></p><p>· Facilitate Agile ceremonies including <b>PI planning, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives</b>.<br />· Coach teams on <b>Agile, DevOps, and continuous delivery best practices</b> to improve predictability and throughput.<br />· Act as <b>Scrum Master for a QA-focused team</b>, including performance, regression, and web QA engineers.<br />· Own <b>end-to-end release management</b> for multiple recurring and ad-hoc releases.<br />· Plan, coordinate, and execute <b>weekly production releases</b> with minimal business disruption.<br />· Partner with <b>DevOps and platform teams</b> to align release schedules with <b>CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation</b>.<br />· Enable release readiness through <b>automated testing, stable environments, and deployment pipelines</b>.<br />· Coordinate <b>consolidated releases</b> across multiple teams and value streams.<br />· Identify delivery and pipeline bottlenecks and drive improvements to <b>lead time, deployment frequency, and release success rates</b>.<br />· Ensure compliance with <b>release governance, quality standards, and change management controls</b>.<br><br></p><br />Requirements<p><b>Required Qualifications:</b><br /></p><p>· <b>10+ years of overall experience</b> and 7+ years as an RTE<br />· Strong hands-on experience in <b>Release Management</b> across multiple teams and projects.<br />· Demonstrated <b>exposure to DevOps practices</b>, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments.<br />· Experience working closely with <b>QA teams</b>, including performance and regression testing.<br />· Solid understanding of <b>dependency management, risk mitigation, and release governance</b>.<br />· Strong communication, facilitation, and leadership-level stakeholder management skills.<br />· Ability to operate effectively in a <b>high-frequency, high-velocity release environment</b>.<br /></p><p><b>Preferred Qualifications:</b><br /></p><p>· Experience in the retail or e-commerce domain.<br />· Working knowledge of DevOps tools and platforms (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub/GitLab, Azure DevOps, AWS, Kubernetes, or similar).<br />· Having SAFe, Scrum Master.
