<h3>Senior Staff Accountant - Public Accounting</h3>
<p><b>Location:</b> Toronto</p>
<p><b>Work:</b> Hybrid</p>
<p>We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join a dynamic public accounting firm. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and manage the full engagement process for a diverse client portfolio. The ideal candidate will lead audit and review engagements, prepare compilations, and handle both personal and corporate tax returns, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.</p>
<h3>Key Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Lead and execute audit and review engagements for clients' financial statements, ensuring strict adherence to ASPE and other relevant accounting standards and regulations.</li>
<li>Prepare and review compilation (Notice to Reader) engagements, as well as personal (T1) and corporate (T2) tax returns.</li>
<li>Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, providing constructive feedback and fostering their professional development.</li>
<li>Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact and identifying opportunities to provide value-added services.</li>
<li>Collaborate with engagement teams to plan, set objectives, and establish timelines, while also identifying and implementing process improvements and new technologies.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Required Skills and Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</li>
<li>Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience within a public accounting firm.</li>
<li>Demonstrated expertise in Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).</li>
<li>Proven experience leading audit and review engagements.</li>
<li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Nice-to-Have Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>CPA designation (or actively working towards it).</li>
<li>Proficiency with audit software (e.g., CaseWare, Taxprep) and Microsoft Office Suite.</li>
<li>Experience in mentoring or supervising junior team members.</li>
</ul>
