<p><h3>Senior Structural Analyst / Engineer – Hydropower & Water Infrastructure</h3><h3>Vancouver, BC</h3>
<p>Our Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd. (KCB) office in Vancouver, BC is looking for a Senior Structural Analyst / Engineer with experience working with multi-disciplinary project teams on water resource infrastructure and hydroelectric market sector projects. This position is for working as part of the Power & Transportation Group. Types of projects may involve rehabilitation of existing dams and hydroelectric facilities, design of new hydroelectric facilities, and civil-structural design of water resource infrastructure.</p>

<h3>This role will give you the opportunity to:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Perform static, dynamic and thermoelastic analyses using standard structural analysis techniques, through LS-Dyna and other equivalent commercially available multi-physics finite element analysis programs (e.g. Ansys, Abaqus, etc)</li>
<li>Lead a team of analysts in the development of fine element models, performing model simulations, validating and interpreting analysis results, and producing comprehensive analysis reports</li>
<li>Perform seismic analysis including response spectrum analysis, linear and nonlinear static analysis, and elastic and inelastic time history analysis</li>
<li>Perform and optimize mesh generation using HyperMesh or equivalent software packages</li>
<li>Optimize structural designs and validate structural responses against performance requirements</li>
<li>Collaborate with design engineers to verify the structural integrity, validate structural responses against performance objectives, and optimize structural design</li>
<li>Establish Working Design Basis documents by defining requirements for development of analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and analysis tools</li>
<li>Work with diverse teams of multi-discipline engineers, designers and drafters from preliminary investigations and conceptual design through design development, and construction</li>
<li>Act as a mentor to junior / intermediate staff</li>
<li>Write, compile, and review technical reports</li>
<li>Participate in proposal preparation and business development</li>
<li>Visit project sites as required to gather information to contribute towards engineering analysis and design activities</li>
<li>Travel within Canada and internationally</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering</li>
<li>Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience</li>
<li>Professional designation within B.C. or eligibility to apply within the year</li>
<li>Technical aptitude, knowledge and experience in the field and on design teams</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals</li>
<li>Effective verbal and written English communication skills, with demonstrated report writing skills</li>
<li>Strong working knowledge of industry codes and standards</li>
<li>Strong working knowledge of earthquake engineering and seismic analysis</li>
<li>Proficient analytical skills with various computational tools – LS Dyna, Ansys, Abaqus, SAP 2000, MIDAS Civil and Midas FEA, etc</li>
<li>Working knowledge of AutoCAD, and Mathcad, Proficiency with Microsoft WORD and Excel</li>
<li>Initiative, innovation and commitment to technical excellence</li>
<li>Valid driver’s license</li>
<li>Ability to travel domestically and internationally</li>
<li>Working knowledge in the following areas are considered an asset:
<ul>
<li>Concrete dam design</li>
<li>Spillway and intake design</li>
<li>Penstock and/or lined tunnel design</li>
<li>Seismic design of structures including performance based seismic design</li>
<li>Canadian Dam Association guidelines and regulations</li>
<li>Dam safety reviews and assessment of compliance with typical practice and regulatory requirements</li>

<h3>Salary and Benefits</h3>
<p>The salary for this position is $120,000 to $190,000 per year. Salary is based on applicable experience, education, and skill level. In addition to salary total rewards include:</p>
