Salary: 28 to 31 /hr based on experience

Proline Rentals and Bins has locations in Port Carling, Gravenhurst and Orillia. We rent small and large equipment, including excavators, sky jacks, bobcats, lawn and garden equipment. We take pride in our customer service. As a member of our team customers service is one of your best assets.

Job: Small Engine Mechanic

Small engine mechanics inspect, service and repair motorized and non motorized power equipment, machinery, and tools.

When equipment breaks down your job is to identify mechanical, electrical, and fuel systems problems and make necessary repairs. Small Engine licensed mechanic or apprentice.

DUTIES

Discuss equipment issues, maintenance plans, and work performed with lead mechanic.

Perform routine engine maintenance, such as lubricating parts and replacing spark plugs.

Sharpening saw blades.

Test and inspect rental equipment after each rental period for damages and equipment function.

Record any damages or malfunctions for management.

Repair or replace worn, defective or broken parts.

Reassemble and reinstall components and engines following repairs.

Keep record of inspection, test results, work performed, and parts used.

SKILLS

Ability to use a variety of hand tools, screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers for common tasks.

Ability to use compression gauges, ammeters, and voltmeters to test engine performance.

Ability to use pneumatic tools, powered by compressed air, or diagnostic equipment.

Hours are 7:30 to 5:00, Monday to Friday.
