Hafu Media Inc.

Job Description

Job Description

About Us

We’re the team behind Hafu Go, one of the Top 5 fastest-growing YouTube channels in Canada, with 11M+ subscribers and over 3B views worldwide. Our content racks up 300M+ views every month, blending science, tech, and chaos into some of the internet’s most viral experiments.

Now, we’re expanding beyond YouTube, building platform-native social content and launching new profiles. This is your chance to shape a major brand from the ground up.

The Role

We’re hiring a Social Media Manager to lead strategy, creation, publishing, and growth across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Snapchat, Threads, and new social brand profiles. You’ll create original short-form content, track trends, build cross-platform presence, and lead creator collaboration strategies to grow reach and cultural relevance. This is a content-first, brand-building role with full ownership over a growing social vertical.

Key ResponsibilitiesOriginal Content Creation

  • Ideate and pitch platform-native short-form content
  • Film and edit social-first videos (not YouTube repurposing)
  • Record and publish behind-the-scenes and studio moments
  • React to fast-moving trends with quick-turn content
  • Use CapCut, Premiere, or similar tools to edit daily content

Publishing & Channel Growth

  • Manage all posts across TikTok, Instagram, Shorts, and Threads
  • Launch and grow new social profiles from scratch
  • Maintain a weekly publishing schedule and platform roadmap
  • Write sharp, engaging, brand-aligned captions and headlines
  • Track analytics, test content formats, and adapt strategy accordingly

Trend Spotting & Cultural Relevance

  • Monitor social platforms daily for emerging memes, sounds, and formats
  • Propose reactive ideas tied to viral moments
  • Stay current on algorithm shifts and evolving platform tools
  • Maintain a rolling bank of trend ideas and viral concepts

Creator Collaboration Strategy

  • Identify creators to collaborate with based on tone, audience, or relevance
  • Pitch duets, stitches, collab formats, and cross-post ideas
  • Coordinate logistics for in-person or remote collaborations
  • Track impact of collabs on audience growth and reach
  • Act as a liaison between the brand and other creators to facilitate authentic crossovers

Community & Brand Voice

  • Monitor and engage with followers across platforms
  • Highlight notable comments or community reactions
  • Maintain brand voice and tone across all public interactions
  • Collaborate with the creator to ensure direction and voice stay consistent

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience in social media content creation and platform strategy
  • Strong creative instincts and editing ability for short-form video
  • Deep knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, Shorts, and internet culture
  • Track record launching and growing social profiles or content brands
  • Excellent writing and hook ideation skills
  • Experience working with or around creators and influencers
  • Toronto-based and available for in-person filming and coordination

What You Get

  • A high-ownership role on one of Canada’s fastest-growing content teams
  • Direct mentorship and hands-on training from a creator with 11M+ subscribers and billions of views
  • Access to a behind-the-scenes world most creators never show — including idea development, high-concept shoots, and viral packaging strategy
  • Opportunities to film in unique environments, experiment with big ideas, and move fast on culturally relevant content
  • A front-row seat to how high-performance creator businesses operate at scale
