<p><h3>Position Overview</h3><p>Social Worker (MSW), Dual Diagnosis - G5 – 1 position.</p>
<p>Dual Diagnosis Program provides specialized assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and support services to adults aged 18-64 who have both a developmental disability and mental illness or severe behavior disorder. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive support, rehabilitation, and treatment to clients with serious and persistent mental illness and a developmental disability.</p>
<h3>Key Responsibilities</h3>
<p>Utilize client-centered care and Psychosocial Rehab (PSR) principles within an inter-professional team approach, frequently in conjunction with community partners.</p>
<h3>Essential Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA</li>
<li>Registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers</li>
<li>Master's of Social Work</li>
<li>At least two (2) years related social work experience</li>
<li>Demonstrated skills, knowledge of and experience delivering a full range of high-quality social work services to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness and their families in the context of a tertiary level psychiatric hospital</li>
<li>Skills in psychosocial assessment, treatment and counselling, basic knowledge of major mental illness, substance abuse, Psychotropic medications and symptom management</li>
<li>Demonstrated skills in goal oriented, evidence-based practice approaches</li>
<li>Knowledge of Mental Health Act, Health Care Consent Act, PHIPA and other relevant legislation</li>
<li>Comprehensive knowledge of, and ability to mobilize community, health/mental health /developmental service agencies and social welfare resources</li>
<li>Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to function effectively within an inter-professional team</li>
<li>Highly developed collaborative, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills</li>
<li>Cultural awareness and sensitivity, conflict resolution, facilitation and mediation skills</li>
<li>Ability to travel within the communities</li>
<li>Mental health experience</li>
<li>Crisis intervention skills</li>
<li>Evidence of professional growth and development</li>
<li>Proficient computer skills with a variety of programs</li>
</ul>
<h3>Preferred Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Proficiency in French would be an asset.</li>
<li>Previous experience working with individuals with a developmental disability and their families</li>
<li>Skills and knowledge working with Adult Developmental Services Agencies, Developmental Services Ontario (DSO)</li>
<li>Familiar with MCSS Quality Assurance Measures and legislation such as The Service and Supports to Promote Inclusion of a Person with a Developmental Disability Act</li>
</ul>
<h3>Teaching and Research</h3>
<p>St. Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee of St. Joseph's, you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties.</p>
<h3>Immunization Requirements</h3>
<ul>
<li>Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.</li>
<li>Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing.</li>
</ul>
