Job Location – Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid)
As a key member of the Finance Team, the Staff Accountant will support our accounting operations and ensure accuracy in financial reporting. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for collecting month-end reports and statements, book journal entries into our accounting system, and conducting thorough reviews and reconciliations to ensure data accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Staff Accountant (Full-Time position)
Job Location – Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid)
As a key member of the Finance Team, the Staff Accountant will support our accounting operations and ensure accuracy in financial reporting. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for collecting month-end reports and statements, book journal entries into our accounting system, and conducting thorough reviews and reconciliations to ensure data accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Collect, organize, and review month-end financial reports and statements to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Accurately book journal entries into the NetSuite accounting system, adhering to established procedures and accounting principles.
- Conduct detailed reviews of booked transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Assist in the integration of financial data from newly acquired entities, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment with company practices.
- Work closely with the accounting and finance team to address discrepancies and provide insights into financial data.
- Identify opportunities to improve data collection, reporting processes, and accounting workflows to enhance efficiency.
What You Will Need To Be Successful
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2 to 3 years of accounting experience
- Solid understanding of GAAP.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, specifically in Excel
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize workflow and meet deadlines
- Ability to work with highly confidential information with professionalism and tact
- Currently enrolled in the CPA (CA, CMA, CGA) program will be an asset
- Exposure to multi-entity environment an asset
- Exposure to NetSuite an asset
