The Sterilizer Operator is a member of the manufacturing team and, is responsible for cleaning and sterilizing the utensils and equipment used in the production of medical devices.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operating industrial washers and autoclave for the complete cleaning and sanitizing of utensils
Cleaning of production utensils and equipment, manually or by washing equipment
Detailed document control (using GMP) and accurate documentation of procedures and supplies used
Daily monitoring of water systems, industrial sterilizers and glass washer
Prepare cleaning solutions and tools to be used
Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and follow replenishment procedures
Perform cleaning operations under strict guidelines following a validated procedure (SOP), ensure cleanings are completed promptly and correctly
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly GMP cleaning and housekeeping


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in operations meetings as needed
Responsible for performing top down cleaning within the IS0 5 Cleanroom, and its adjacent cleaning areas in the absence of cleaning subcontractor
Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Technical Knowledge/Experience
Minimum Grade 12 or College Diploma
1 year work experience in a GMP/GLP or ISO compliant environment in the same capacity or either in a Manufacturing or Quality department
Excellent written and oral English communication skills
Excellent attention to details


WORKING CONDITIONS:
Operators are on their feet, walking or standing for much of the shift
Operators are required to bend, reach, lift and move equipment and supplies as needed. Must be willing and able to repeatedly lift 20 lbs at a time.
Operators handle mild chemicals such as detergents and antimicrobial solutions.
The work areas can be noisy and busy.

Schedule:
8 hour shift
Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:
Aurora, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)


Education:
DCS / DEC (preferred)

Experience:
GMP/GLP or ISO compliant environment: 1 year (preferred)
autoclave operation: 1 year (preferred)
