Nature & Scope
Reporting to the District Manager, the Store Manager creates and maintains the Roots Experience for customers and employees. The role emphasizes leadership building, succession planning, and coaching. The Store Manager models and acts in accordance with Roots guiding principles and beliefs.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Achieve store sales budgets through execution of company standards, policies and procedures while exceeding customers' expectations through superior service at every opportunity.
- Provide ongoing selling skills coaching and development based on each staff member's strengths and weaknesses to help them reach personal sales goals.
- Establish action plans to improve each individual's performance and productivity.
- Build and maintain customer loyalty by delivering the ultimate shopping experience and resolving issues promptly and positively.
- Lead by example in sales and customer service.
- Proactively seek qualified candidates for current and future positions to ensure the store structure meets business needs.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- 3+ years of related experience in a retail apparel environment
- Leadership skills demonstrated through KPI results, retention, and performance coaching
- Experience with visual planning and merchandising
- Demonstrated sales achievements in a high-volume store
- Ability to manage resources to meet established service levels
- Ability to handle multiple situations simultaneously while staying composed
- Excellent communication (oral and written), leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Organization, planning, and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to plan and prioritize workload
- Strong team-building and mentoring abilities
