<p><span> Search Group Solutions – Tax Manager</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Job ID: 25-0704</span></p><p><span>Seattle, WA</span></p><p><span>Hybrid</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Search Group Solutions is partnering with a growing organization to identify a Tax Manager with deep experience in Canadian tax compliance, provision work, and cross-border tax matters. This individual will support complex Canadian tax processes, collaborate with U.S. and international tax teams, and lead key components of tax reporting, planning, and audit support.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>The position reports to senior tax leadership and plays a major role in overseeing Canada-focused tax cycles, responding to regulatory inquiries, coordinating external advisors, and managing recurring and project-based tax responsibilities.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>This hybrid role can be based out of the Seattle, WA area or the Vancouver, B.C. area.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Key Responsibilities</span></p><p><span>Canadian Tax Compliance & Reporting</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Oversee the preparation, review, and filing of Canadian federal and provincial income tax returns for multiple entities.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Manage interim and year-end Canadian tax provisions, including related disclosures and supporting documentation.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Lead responses to inquiries from relevant tax authorities and assist in managing tax controversy matters.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Coordinate and supervise external tax service providers engaged in Canadian return preparation.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Canadian tax law changes and assess implications for the organization.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Tax Planning & Advisory</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Provide analysis to support tax planning initiatives, reorganizations, and corporate transactions.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Participate in due diligence for acquisitions and internal restructurings, evaluating tax implications and identifying opportunities for optimization.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Research complex tax questions and prepare technical memos, support files, and documentation of tax positions.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Review business forecasts and contribute to tax modeling and special projects.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Cross-Functional Collaboration</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Work closely with internal teams including U.S. and global tax groups, accounting, legal, controllers, and business leadership.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Provide tax insights for operational and strategic decisions, highlighting potential risks and compliance considerations.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Assist in developing and executing tax planning initiatives and reviewing related legal documents.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Training & Team Contributions</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Contribute to staff development through knowledge sharing, presentations, and one-on-one guidance.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Support continuous improvement across tax processes and reporting.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Qualifications</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s in Tax or Accounting preferred.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>CPA or Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant designation required.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>7+ years of income tax compliance and financial reporting experience in public accounting and/or a corporate tax department.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Strong understanding of Canadian tax laws; exposure to international or cross-border tax matters preferred.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Technical expertise in income tax accounting, deferred tax calculations, and tax provision work.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Familiarity with U.S. income tax concepts, ASC 740, and SEC disclosure standards is a plus.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Excellent organization, analytical skills, data management abilities, and communication skills.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Experience collaborating across multiple functions and geographic locations.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Advanced Excel skills (macros, pivot tables, lookups, data manipulation).</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Experience with tax software such as OneSource, and tools like Power BI or Alteryx is preferred.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>No direct supervisory responsibilities.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Work Environment</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Hybrid schedule with at least three days per week onsite (Seattle or Vancouver).</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Office setting with moderate noise levels and consistent computer-based work.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Compensation</span></p><p><span>Seattle, WA (USD)</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>$125,000 – $155,000 per year</span></p><p><span>Includes eligibility for medical, dental, vision, disability, parental leave (if applicable), paid sick/vacation time, company holidays, bereavement leave, jury duty pay, 401(k) participation, retirement plan eligibility, and discretionary/metric-based bonuses.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>Vancouver, B.C. (CAD)</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>$110,601 – $155,000 per year</span></p><p><span>Includes extended health and dental benefits, employer-paid RRSP eligibility, vacation and sick time, holiday pay, discretionary/metric-based bonuses, learning and development support, wellness programs, and free parking.</span></p>
