Our client, a leading financial institution based in downtown Toronto, is seeking a talented and driven Tech Lead to join their high-performing team. This is a unique chance to leverage your technical prowess and leadership skills to drive digital acceleration and contribute to critical business objectives.
What You’ll Do:
As a Tech Lead, you’ll be at the forefront of technical innovation, translating complex business needs into robust and scalable solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assessing and implementing initiatives to achieve business objectives.
Decomposing business requirements into detailed design specifications and code.
Evaluating the impact of design decisions on performance, schedule, budget, and quality, and recommending creative solutions.
Collaborating with diverse subject matter experts across infrastructure, operations, applications, and vendors to define requirements and coordinate development.
Conducting independent analysis to resolve strategic issues and building effective relationships with stakeholders.
Designing and implementing high-volume, high-availability applications with a strong focus on automation.
Supporting production issues through independent root-cause analysis and diagnosis.
Identifying opportunities to strengthen development capabilities through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and building communities of practice.
What You’ll Bring (Your Core Skills):
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Solution Architect or in a similar role.
Proven ability to quickly grasp organizational dynamics and management priorities, excelling in a results-driven company.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating complex solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong facilitation, negotiation, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
A solid understanding of Linux-based systems, including common command-line tools and fundamental system administration.
Expertise in cryptographic protocols like TLS/SSL and their implementation for secure network communications, including managing digital certificates and PKI.
In-depth knowledge of networking principles (IP addressing, subnets, VLANs, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTP, FTP) and the ability to diagnose connectivity issues.
A strong grasp of core relational database principles (data modeling, normalization, indexing, query optimization).
Experience with non-relational databases, encompassing concepts like schema-less design and data partitioning.
Demonstrated strong programming skills with hands-on experience in Java and/or Angular.
An understanding of RESTful API design, HTTP protocols, authentication methods (OAuth2, JWT), and security standards (SSL/TLS).
Strong proficiency in algorithms and data structures (e.g., trees, graphs, heaps, hash tables) and their real-world applications.
Bonus Points If You Have:
Experience with AWS Lambda, Amazon’s serverless computing service.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is 50/hr-70/hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
