<p><h3>Job Description</h3><p>Under the direction of the Manager, Climate, Environment & Sustainability, the Technical Student β Environment & Climate Change will be responsible for assisting the Environment & Sustainability Business Unit with specific project requirements and carrying out various types of inspections, site visits, and project monitoring.</p>
<p>This position will also be responsible for assisting with the collection and input of data using various software programs.</p>
<h3>Job Requirements</h3>
<ul>
<li>Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program related to Natural Resources, the Environment, Sustainability, Climate Change, Civil Engineering, or equivalent and/or combination of education and experience. Previous outdoor or infrastructure related employment may be considered an asset.</li>
<li>Strong organization, analytical skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with a variety of personality types.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to work as a team member as well as the ability to work independently and with minimum supervision to meet deadlines, perform multiple tasks and to respect confidentiality.</li>
<li>Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to convey highly technical discussion points is necessary.</li>
<li>Ability to deal effectively and courteously with the public, other Departments and staff.</li>
<li>Experience in the use of Microsoft Suite of Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and GIS systems. Experience with Survey123 or similar is an asset.</li>
<li>Class βGβ driverβs license in good standing with reliable vehicle available for corporate business driving to sites throughout the Town of Newmarket.</li>
<li>Experience and/or a working knowledge of on-site inspections and workplace safety and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.</li>
