<p>Job Classification: Care Services Director</p><p>Position #71014</p><p>Facility: Samaritan Place</p><p>Status: Full-time Permanent</p><p>Shift Information: Days, Evenings, Weekends, Standby</p><p>Hours of Work: 5 shifts of 7.5 hours per week</p><p>Job Description:</p><p>Samaritan Place, an Emmanuel Health organization, provides long-term care to over 100 residents. In tradition of Catholic social justice teaching and service, we respond to the unmet needs of the vulnerable and the communities we serve through compassionate innovative service and partnerships.</p><p>The Care Services Director provides clinical and operational leadership for all nursing and care services. The Care Services Director ensures the delivery of safe, effective, and resident-directed care in a 24/7 long-term care environment, while advancing the vision, mission, and values of Emmanuel Health. Working collaboratively with the Site Lead and leadership team, the Care Services Director supports organizational priorities related to quality improvement, resident safety, staffing, education, and risk management, and fosters a culture of excellence in care delivery.</p><p>Key Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>The Care Services Director manages and leads the nursing or continuing care departments, often in partnership with an administrator or executive director.</li><li>Administration & Operations: Manage all aspects of the department, including efficient use of human, financial, and physical resources.</li><li>Program Delivery & Quality Assurance: Ensure the provision of quality, client-centric care through effective program delivery, adherence to best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.</li><li>Planning & Strategy: Develop and execute operational and business plans, monitor outcomes, and correct course as needed to achieve provincial healthcare goals.</li><li>Human Resources Management: Oversee staff scheduling (RN/LPN/CP), appraisals, training, education, and foster an innovative and positive working climate.</li><li>Policy & Standards Development: Create and implement policies and procedures, ensure consistent application of planning and improvement tools, and maintain standards.</li><li>Stakeholder Collaboration: Build partnerships with various system, community, and government stakeholders (e.g., the Saskatchewan Health Authority).</li><li>Budgeting & Fiscal Responsibility: Assist in budget review for the department and ensure the facility meets financial requirements.</li></ul><p>Qualifications:</p><ul><li>Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.</li><li>Current registration and good standing with the Saskatchewan nursing regulatory body.</li></ul><p>Experience:</p><ul><li>Three to five years progressive leadership experience in long-term care or complex continuing care.</li></ul><p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:</p><ul><li>Knowledge of Accreditation Canada Required Organizational Practices and Saskatchewan Ministry of Health Special Care Home Guidelines</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of resident-directed care philosophy and clinical governance</li><li>Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and clinical documentation systems</li><li>Understanding of the mission and values of Catholic healthcare</li></ul><p>Pay Range: Pay band 6 as per Provincial Out-of-Scope Employees Pay Schedule | Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations Inc.</p><p>Anticipated Start Date: March 1, 2026</p><p>Closing Date of Posting: February 18, 2026</p><p>Other information:</p><p>Work life balance </p><p>Generous leave and vacation package</p><p>Extended health and dental benefits</p><p>Flexible/Health spending account</p><p>Pension and TSFA options</p><p>We are committed to building a representative, diverse, inclusive, and culturally responsive workforce.</p><p>We are committed to the Truth and Reconciliation Commissions Calls to Action.</p><p>We work in the spirit of truth and reconciliation, acknowledging Saskatchewan as the traditional territory of First Nations and Métis People.</p>
