<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p>Our Telecommunications group is currently looking to add a <strong>Construction Supervisor</strong> to our growing team, based in Sherwood Park, AB.</p><p>Reporting to the Project Manager, we are seeking an experienced Construction Leader who will be rresponsible for leading on-site construction crews and acting as the primary liaison between Project Managers, field crews, and the client, ensuring projects are executed safely, on schedule, on budget, and to quality standards.</p><p><em>Please Note: This is a field-based position that will need to accommodate multiple shift requirements based on site-specific project schedules. Occasional travel will also be required (25% of the time). </em></p>Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>Act as the primary point of contact for Project Managers and the main liaison between Valard crews and the client’s Site Representative</li><li>Lead and supervise on-site crews, ensuring construction activities comply with project drawings, specifications, schedules, budgets, and Valard safety and quality standards</li><li>Promote and support the implementation of Valard’s safety policies and procedures, leading by example</li><li>Ensure all near-miss and incident events are properly investigated and that corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence</li><li>Collaborate closely with Project Managers to develop and maintain construction schedules through the efficient use of manpower, materials, tools, and equipment</li><li>Support the management of subcontractors on site, including monitoring productivity to maintain project schedules and contract budgets</li><li>Assist Project Managers in developing project execution plans, coordinating kick-off meetings and scope reviews, and working with the Contracts team to support successful project delivery</li><li>Mentor, train, and motivate crews to foster a strong culture of safety, quality, and productivity</li><li>Ensure crews are knowledgeable of, and consistently adhere to, company safety, construction, and quality policies and procedures</li><li>Ensure accurate and timely completion and submission of crew timesheets</li><li>Support internal and external audits and inspection activities as required</li><li>Coordinate equipment reviews and scheduling</li><li>Conduct employee performance reviews and support disciplinary actions, in collaboration with HR and Safety, as required for policy non-compliance</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>5 years of experience in the telecom construction industry (Applicable experience in utility infrastructure construction may also be considered)</li><li>Working knowledge of fiber, copper cable, and coax placement both aerial and underground</li><li>Knowledge in both Directional Drilling and Vibratory Plowing</li><li>Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record</li><li>Experience leading multiple work crews</li><li>Knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, project scheduling, cost, and quality controls</li><li>Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Job Posting End Date</strong>: February 24th, 2026</p><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p>We offer a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package that incorporates a complete range of employee benefits, including an RRSP matching program, to ensure you have the tools necessary to manage, maintain, and improve your health and wellbeing. </p><p><strong>About our Business</strong></p><p>Valard Construction is Canada’s premier utility contractor providing comprehensive EPC+ (engineering, procurement, construction) and maintenance services to utilities, independent power producers, mining, oil and gas industries and rural electric associations.
