<p>EXP is searching for an <b>Electrical Project Engineer</b> to join our Mechanical/Electrical team in our Hamilton, ON office. The successful applicant will be joining a diverse engineering group in Central Canada poised for growth and challenging opportunities well into the future.</p>
<h3>What a day at EXP has in store for you</h3>
<ul>
<li>Reports to the Mechanical/Electrical Manager or Project Manager with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision on projects from start to completion.</li>
<li>Contributes to preparation of project proposals and other business development efforts.</li>
<li>Able to lead and mentor design staff on all aspects of their work.</li>
<li>Responsible for meeting EXP’s engineering quality standards on assigned projects.</li>
<li>Oversees development of design concepts and ensures proper application and execution.</li>
<li>Reviews designer’s work regarding specifications, reports, code application, submittal review, equipment selection, deliverables, and drawings.</li>
<li>Responsible for applying EXP’s risk management practices to all projects.</li>
<li>Leads the design team to produce schematic design, design development, tender and construction documents that meet the project requirements within the allocated schedule and budget.</li>
<li>Prepares, studies and reports on electrical system project work.</li>
<li>Executes complex electrical designs with conflicting design requirements or difficult coordination.</li>
<li>Contributes to revisions of company design standards and master specifications.</li>
<li>Evaluates value engineering (cost saving) items with respect to the associated risk.</li>
</ul>
<h3>What your experience looks like</h3>
<ul>
<li>The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of experience in the Electrical Engineering field, with a preferred focus in building consulting engineering.</li>
<li>Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree.</li>
<li>Registered Professional Engineer is required.</li>
<li>Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.) products and electrical design software.</li>
<li>AutoCAD experience required and REVIT MEP proficiency desired.</li>
</ul>
