Our scenic 60-acre<br>campus offers outstanding academic, arts, and athletic environments for all<br>camp experiences.</p><p>Campers at Appleby experience an exciting week of discovery,<br>friendship, sports, and fun For more information, including a complete listing<br>of all camp programs offered, please visit: </p><h2>POSITION SUMMARY</h2><p>As an Arts & Media Head Instructor, you will be<br>responsible for providing the lead instruction as well as overseeing other<br>instructors and ensuring a safe, productive and enjoyable experience for all<br>campers. Applicant should be a post-secondary student or have equivalent in a<br>related discipline.</p><h2>WHAT IS AMAZING ABOUT THIS JOB</h2><p><br>• Develop, plan, and supervise respective summer camp<br>program</p><p><br>• Create activities that are welcoming to join/observe<br>aspects of camp (for shy or timid campers)</p><p><br>• Instruct and lead specialized activities with campers and<br>instructors</p><p><br>• Design schedules for activities that allow for the highest<br>quality experience</p><p><br>• Make sure that other programs can be coordinated</p><p><br>• Follow and ensure camp procedures and policies are always<br>adhered including Appleby's Mutual Respect Policy</p><p><br>• Provide leadership to Instructors, as well as maintains a<br>positive working relationship with all other staff members</p><p><br>• Ensure the safety and supervision of all campers, staff,<br>and visitors</p><p><br>• Provide progress reports, suggestions for improvement, and<br>voices concerns to the Director, Camp Programs</p><p><br>• Maintain high levels of professionalism and public<br>relations, demonstrating a courteous attitude toward participants, parents,<br>staff, visitors, and parents</p><p><br>• Adhered to Appleby College's policies and practices for<br>all facilities, equipment, and programs</p><p><br>• Ensure safe drop-off and pick-up for all respective<br>program campers, maintaining presence at these points; circulating, helping,<br>and answering questions</p><h2>YOU WILL BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU</h2><p><br>• Have Post-secondary education or a minimum completion of<br>2nd year</p><p><br>• Proven excellence in instructional abilities in program<br>area of the specific camp.</p><p><br>• Acquired appropriate balance of "fun"damentals vs<br>education/skill development</p><p><br>• Have experience in teaching and/or instructing specific<br>arts and/or media programs preferred</p><p><br>• Possess team leading abilities (Completion of a leadership<br>program is an asset)</p><p><br>• Are exceptional in verbal and written communication skills</p><p><br>• possess exquisite time management and organizational<br>skills</p><p><br>• Can demonstrate effective problem-solving skills</p><p><br>• Are able to adapt to changing needs and circumstances</p><p><br>• Have valid Standard First Aid and CPR – C</p><h2>WHAT WE WILL OFFER TO MAKE THIS JOB AMAZING</h2><p><br>• Competitive compensation for the camping industry</p><p><br>• Daily lunch & coffee/tea, Friday continental breakfast</p><p><br>• Employee discount available for immediate dependents in<br>Summer Camps</p><p><br>• Welcoming, inclusive environment</p><p><br>• After-work access to state of the art facility including<br>spin, yoga and HIIT training studios</p><p><br>• Appleby Camp uniform including staff shirts, name tags and<br>lanyards included</p><p><br>• Complementary Staff socials such as: Canoeing, rock<br>climbing, trivia night, awards dinner</p><p><br>• Opportunity to explore your lesson plans in a fun summer<br>environment</p><p><br>• Opportunity to network within the Appleby community</p><p><br>• Beautiful environment and natural surroundings on our<br>campus with its amazing facilities located on the shore of Lake Ontario</p><h2>WORK SCHEDULE</h2><p><br>• Friday May 29, 2026 (Evening)</p><p><br>• Saturday May 30 & Sunday May 31, 2026 (Full Days)</p><p><br>• Saturday June 13, 2026 (Full Day)</p><p><br>• Sunday June 14, 2026 (Full Day)</p><p><br>• Camp Session Dates: June 22 – August 28, 2026 </p><p><br>• Monday to Friday 8:15am–4:15pm</p><p><br>• Mandatory Orientation: First day of each week,<br>7:30am–4:30pm</p><h2>HOW TO APPLY</h2><p>If you or someone you know wants to learn and grow this<br>summer, please apply online by Monday January 5, 2026.<br><br>Your application matters to us and we will review it carefully.
