<p> NOW HIRING: EXPERIENCED HEAVY DUTY EQUIPMENT MECHANICS <br><br> Tamatta Mining & Construction is seeking experienced Heavy Duty Mechanics for one of our esteemed clients to maintain and repair a diverse fleet for Winter Ice Road operations. You will work on a rotational schedule during the ice road season, ensuring high availability and safe operation of all equipment across remote and challenging environments.</p> <p>Position: Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic<br> Location: Nunavut Schedule: 21 days on / 21 days off Fly-In, Fly-Out:<br> Paid flights, comfortable hotels, and benefits from day one</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Inspect, diagnose, service, repair, and overhaul heavy equipment to maximize uptime for winter operations.</li> <li>Maintain and troubleshoot the following fleet: dozers, wheel loaders, excavators, graders, snowcats, water trucks, telehandlers, Ford pickups (F-250, F-350, F-550), flatdeck trucks, camp generators, and lighting plants.</li> <li>Perform preventative maintenance, routine PMs, fuel system maintenance, hydraulic, electrical, and engine work.</li> <li>Use OEM manuals, diagnostic tools, and on-board computer systems to identify faults.</li> <li>Maintain accurate service logs, parts usage, and maintenance records.</li> <li>Keep work areas clean and safe; enforce lockout/tagout and follow company safety policies.</li> <li>Collaborate with field supervisors to plan repairs and minimize downtime during critical ice road windows.</li> <li>Assist with parts coordination, ordering, and inventory control; advise on failures and replacement intervals.</li> <li>Provide technical guidance to junior mechanics and, as needed, support on-call coverage during the rotation.</li> <li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.</li> </ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p><ul><li>Red Seal or Journeyman-certified Heavy Duty Mechanic</li> <li>Strong diagnostic and repair skills across diesel engines, hydraulics, powertrains, transmissions, electrical systems, and auxiliary systems</li> <li>Comfortable working in cold, remote arctic environments; ability to perform field repairs under challenging conditions</li> <li>Valid driver's license</li> <li>Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test (includes cannabis) and criminal record check</li> </ul> <p>Why Join Us?</p><ul><li>Highly Competitive Wages – Your skills are rewarded</li> <li>Travel & Accommodation Covered – No out-of-pocket expenses</li> <li>Benefits from Day One – Health, safety, and well-being prioritized</li> </ul> <p>Your Skills Will Be Put to the Test: Gain exposure and expand your skills, and grow your career in a safety-focused environment.</p> <p>Ready to take your mechanic career to the next level?
