<p>Contract Immigration Paralegal (Canada – Remote)</p><p><br></p><p><b> Location:</b> Remote (Canada-based)</p><p><b>Engagement Type:</b> Independent Contractor / Contract</p><p><b>Compensation:</b> Flat fee per assignment or hourly (rates determined based on experience and expertise)</p><p><b>Industry Focus:</b> Manufacturing, Technology, and related sectors</p><p><br></p><p><b>About the Role</b></p><p>Our client, a Canada-based immigration law firm, is seeking an experienced Contract Immigration Paralegal to support employer-driven and business immigration matters on a flexible, assignment-based basis. This role is ideal for a senior paralegal with strong drafting skills and hands-on experience managing complex Canadian immigration applications independently.</p><p>The position is fully remote and open to candidates located anywhere in Canada.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Prepare, draft, and manage Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) applications, including:</li><li>High-Wage and Low-Wage streams</li><li>Global Talent Stream (Category A & B)</li><li>Employer Compliance documentation</li><li>Recruitment efforts and advertising compliance</li><li>Draft and support ICT (Intra-Company Transfer) and other LMIA-exempt work permit applications, including:</li><li>CUSMA/NAFTA Professionals</li><li>Significant Benefit (C10)</li><li>Entrepreneurs / Owner-Operators</li><li>Global Mobility Program work permits</li><li>Prepare employer support letters, submissions, and legal-style narratives for writing-intensive applications for lawyer review</li><li>Coordinate documentation from employers and foreign workers to ensure accuracy</li><li>Review applications for completeness, consistency, and regulatory compliance under lawyer supervision</li><li>Track deadlines and manage multiple assignments simultaneously</li><li>Communicate professionally with legal counsel and clients as required</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Required Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience working with Canadian LMIAs</li><li>Demonstrated experience supporting manufacturing and/or technology sector employers</li><li>Strong working knowledge of IRCC and ESDC/Service Canada requirements</li><li>Experience preparing writing-intensive applications (e.g., ICTs, significant benefit cases)</li><li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision</li><li>Excellent written English skills with strong attention to detail</li><li>Comfortable working in a remote, contract-based environment</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Preferred Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Experience with:</li><li>Global Talent Stream (GTS) LMIAs</li><li>Employer compliance reviews and audits</li><li>Work permit extensions and amendments</li><li>Permanent residence streams tied to employer support (e.g., Express Entry, PNP employer-driven cases)</li><li>Familiarity with compliance-heavy industries and regulated employers</li><li>Prior experience working with immigration law firms or boutique practices</li><li>Knowledge of common pitfalls and risk factors in LMIA and ICT applications</li><li>Ability to suggest process improvements or efficiencies</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Additional Skills </b></p><ul><li>Strong organizational and time-management skills</li><li>Ability to manage fluctuating workloads and deadlines</li><li>Professional judgment</li><li>Comfort using case management systems and cloud-based document tools</li><li>Clear, professional communication style</li><li>Interest in long-term, ongoing contract collaboration</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Compensation & Flexibility</b></p><ul><li>Paid on a flat-fee, per-assignment basis or hourly</li><li>Fees will be mutually agreed upon based on level of experience, subject-matter expertise, and complexity of work</li><li>Flexible workload with the potential for recurring assignments</li></ul><p></p>Create Your Resume First
