Job Description

<p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><span>Maintaining a working knowledge of the facility, plant processes, equipment and systems in order to perform maintenance effectively with minimum down time under general direction; </span></li>
<li><span>Diagnoses of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubles;</span></li>
<li><span>Install, repair and maintain plant equipment (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, minor electrical, etc);</span></li>
<li><span>Suggest continuous improvement ideas for equipment and production;</span></li>
<li><span>Provide recommendation for proper level of equipment spares and maintain approved level;</span></li>
<li><span>Preventative maintenance routines;</span></li>
<li><span>Assist all departments in evaluating issues and making repairs;</span></li>
<li><span>Expedite the requisitioning of materials needed for various maintenance functions;</span></li>
<li><span>Works in co-operation with plant personnel and outside contractors when required;</span></li>
<li><span>Assist in the commissioning of new equipment;</span></li>
<li><span>Maintains tools, including calibrated tools in proper working condition per ISO requirements;</span></li>
<li><span>Record all repairs, preventative maintenance functions and inventory usage per ISO requirements;</span></li>
<li><span>Performs routine general maintenance work and documentation as required;</span></li>
<li><span>Performs duties as required utilising forklift and crane;</span></li>
<li><span>Maintains a tidy work environment;</span></li>
<li><span>Committed to a safe work environment;</span></li>
<li><span>Performs other related duties as assigned. </span></li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><span>High school Diploma or general education degree (GED) </span></li>
<li><span>5 years of experience in general maintenance in a manufacturing environment;</span></li>
<li><span>Excellent troubleshooting skills in PLC’s, electrical, mechanical,  refrigeration systems  for production machinery and support equipment;</span></li>
<li><span>Able to demonstrate a strong mechanical aptitude;</span></li>
<li><span>General knowledge of blueprint reading for equipment;</span></li>
<li><span>Able to troubleshoot hydraulics, pneumatic and minor electrical issues ;</span></li>
<li><span>Skilled in root cause analysis and trouble techniques of equipment problems;</span></li>
<li><span>Welding/ Oxy-Acetylene equipment skills required;</span></li>
<li><span>Working knowledge of lathe, milling machine, grinder and hand tools; </span></li>
<li><span>Able to work in a team environment under minimal supervision;</span></li>
<li><span>Must have a valid driver’s licence;</span></li>
<li>Good interpersonal skills and a customer service orientation;</li>
<li>ISO experience an asset.</li>
