The Machinist will perform complex fabrication, shaping, modification and repair work performed on a variety of electric rotating and linear equipment, including parts and tools used on machinery and equipment. This work involves the calculation of dimensions and tolerances, the set-up, adjustment and operation of machine tools. Will work with various types of metals, plastics, imperial and metric measurements and close tolerances.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities:</strong><br /><ul><li>Capable of performing all mechanical measurements as they relate to the rebuilding of motor components and tooling</li><li>Basic mathematical capabilities with an understanding of tolerances and bearing fits</li><li>Capable of reading mechanical drawings and specifications to applicable standards</li><li>Knowledge of mechanical instruments, calibration techniques and requirements</li><li>Operating principles and the use of the following equipment and maintaining them, including Milling Machine, Lathe Machine (Set-up and Operation), Drill Press (vertical and radial), Undercutting machines and tools (Automatic and Manual), Balancing Machine, and Brush Plating Machine (SIFCO)</li><li>Understanding of undercutting requirements, polishing, finishing (ie-deburring) as specified in our ITR’s</li><li>Usage of overhead cranes and material handling equipment</li><li>Understanding of documentation requirements of work performed</li><li>Able to understand Internal Test Reports</li><li>Welding principles and application. Basic manual ARC welding</li><li>Usage of Pneumatic, Hydraulic and Air Tools</li><li>Perform related duties as assigned</li></ul><strong> </strong><br /><strong>Qualifications:</strong><br /><ul><li>1-3 years of hands on experience working in a production facility</li><li>Must have a strong willingness and drive to learn</li><li>Stand for extended period of time</li><li>Strong Hand-eye coordination is required</li><li>Understanding of Safety concepts and ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System</li><li><strong>Able to meet rotating shifts (Morning Shift 06:00 - 14:30 & Afternoon Shift 15:00 - 23:30, rotate every two weeks)</strong></li></ul><strong> </strong><br /><strong>Job Location: </strong>Highway 7 and Jane area.
