<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><p><strong>Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (P.Eng.) – Development Projects</strong></p><p><strong>Location:</strong> GTA / Ontario<br /><strong>Compensation:</strong> Up to <strong>$125,000 base</strong> (commensurate with experience)</p><p>Travel will be expected: Ontario, Nova Scotia & New Brunswick</p><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>We are seeking a <strong>licensed Mechanical Engineer (P.Eng.)</strong> with <strong>5–7 years of experience</strong> to lead the <strong>design, coordination, and stamping of mechanical systems</strong> for residential and mixed-use development projects. This role is hands-on and accountable, requiring strong technical judgment, code knowledge, and experience working through municipal approvals.</p><p>The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering compliant, constructible mechanical designs while coordinating closely with architects, structural engineers, electrical consultants, and development teams.</p><p><hr /></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Design and engineer mechanical systems including <strong>HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection</strong> for low- to mid-rise residential and mixed-use projects</li><li><strong>Review, sign, and stamp mechanical drawings and documents</strong> in accordance with provincial regulations</li><li>Ensure designs comply with <strong>OBC, ASHRAE, CSA, NFPA</strong>, and applicable municipal standards</li><li>Prepare and sign <strong>Schedule 1 / Schedule B</strong> documents as required</li><li>Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to resolve design and constructability issues</li><li>Respond to <strong>municipal plan review comments</strong>, RFIs, and site inquiries</li><li>Provide technical support during construction, including site reviews and deficiency resolution</li><li>Assist with energy efficiency measures and sustainability requirements where applicable</li><li>Maintain quality control, documentation standards, and project schedules</li></ul><p><hr /></p><p><strong>Qualifications & Experience</strong></p><ul><li><strong>P.Eng. designation (Ontario)</strong> – required</li><li><strong>5–7 years</strong> of mechanical engineering experience in <strong>building design / development projects</strong></li><li>Proven experience <strong>stamping mechanical drawings</strong></li><li>Strong working knowledge of Ontario Building Code and municipal approval processes</li><li>Experience with residential, mixed-use, or commercial developments</li><li>Proficiency in <strong>AutoCAD and/or Revit</strong></li><li>Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment</li></ul><p><hr /></p><p><strong>Preferred Assets</strong></p><ul><li>Experience working directly with <strong>developers or MEP consulting firms</strong></li><li>Exposure to <strong>Toronto and GTA municipalities</strong></li><li>Construction-phase involvement and site experience</li><li>Energy modeling or high-performance building exposure (an asset, not required)</li></ul><p><hr /></p><p><strong>Compensation & Benefits</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Base salary up to $125,000</strong>, based on experience</li><li>Benefits package</li><li>Professional development and long-term growth opportunities</li><li>Opportunity to take ownership of projects and expand technical leadership responsibilities</li></ul><p></p><p>Please submit your resume to aneil@chadman.com</p><p></p></p></p></p>Create Your Resume First
