We seek the best and brightest and are committed to investing in our people and providing the training and resources they need to learn, grow, and advance.<br><br>Are you <strong>Built for the Challenge?</strong></p><p><strong>Our Values </strong></p><ul><li>Working Safely</li><li>Valuing Diversity</li><li>Serving Humbly</li><li>Executing with Integrity</li><li>Solving Creatively</li><li>Engaging Fully</li></ul><p><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE </strong></p><p>The PLAA Senior Specialist position involves establishing and maintaining relationships with governmental authorities and stakeholders, coordinating meetings, and ensuring all necessary permits and approvals are obtained and tracked along with ensuring any additional obligations outlined in the Project Agreement are met.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities </strong></p><ul><li>Establish and maintain working relationships with relevant governmental authorities and stakeholders through the Contracting Authority Representative.</li><li>Review project documents (e.g., drawings, reports, and contracts) to identify permit and approval requirements.</li><li>Assist the PLAA Manager in scheduling, arranging, and coordinating meetings with the city and other external stakeholders.</li><li>Prepare, submit, and track all required PLAAs</li><li>Maintain the PLAA Tracker to manage records of comments, responses, submissions, and resubmissions of permit applications.</li><li>Ensure that all plans and records related to PLAA are uploaded into registries as required by Governmental Authorities and Contracting Authorities.</li><li>Identify potential issues affecting PLAAs, define mitigation measures, and report to the PLAA Manager.</li><li>Arrange, schedule, coordinate, and align the PLAA/Lands team’s objectives with interdisciplinary cross-functional working groups, including but not limited to design teams, consultants, and construction teams.</li><li>Monitor and track documents related to Lands, Property, and Access for the entire Project.</li><li>Prepare and submit requests for Permit to Enter to Contracting Authority for access to private lands.</li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned, promoting a positive team environment and a culture of collaboration.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications & Experience </strong></p><ul><li>Experience with complex permits such as Sewer Discharge Approvals (SDAs), Site Plan Approvals (SPA), Zoning By-Law Amendments, Environmental Compliance Review(s), Drinking Water Works Permits, Tree Removals, Voluntary Project Reviews etc.,</li><li>Experience with relevant Authorities Holding Jurisdiction permitting requirements and process</li><li>Knowledge of and experience acquiring permits, licenses, and approval requirements for major infrastructure and transit infrastructure projects.</li><li>Understanding of licenses, agreements, and approvals required for Property and Land, including but not limited to Easements, License Agreements, Permits to Enter.</li><li>Understanding of property and land acquisition processes.</li><li>Knowledge of relevant legislation, procedures, and permit requirements, including the Ontario Water Resources Act, Ontario Building Code (OBC), Planning Act (Ontario), Metrolinx Act, 2006 (Ontario), Municipal Act (Ontario), Conservation Authorities, railway corridor infrastructure, and related construction projects.</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, urban planning, environmental science or related field.</li><li>Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience.</li><li>Experience in the design and/or construction industry or major infrastructure project is considered an asset.</li><li>Working knowledge of commonly used desktop applications such as MS Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Sharepoint.</li><li>Interpersonal and excellent communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently in high-paced environments.</li><li>Candidacy for Professional designation is an asset such as P. Eng, P. Geo, RPP, PMP, OAA, or any other project Management.</li><li>Working knowledge of design and construction industry practices.</li><li>Sound knowledge of regulatory requirements, third-party permits, and approval processes, as well as environmental and property approvals pertinent to large infrastructure and transit projects.</li><li>Sound judgment, excellent problem-solving skills, and exceptional attention to detail</li><li>Ability to liaise with consultants, contractors, and Governmental Authorities.</li></ul><p></p><p><em>Alberici Operating Companies </em></p><p><em>Alberici Constructors, Inc., Alberici Constructors, LTD., Alberici Construcciones, BRC, CAS Constructors, Filanc, Flintco, Hillsdale Fabricators, Kienlen Constructors, and WWPS</em></p></p></p>
