<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>Underground Electrician - Red Seal/ Journeyman</strong></p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Western Nunavut (FIFO from Edmonton)<br /><strong>Employment Type:</strong> Contract/Temporary (Several months duration)<br /><strong>Accommodations:</strong> Camp provided<br /><strong>Start Date:</strong> ASAP - Priority hiring</p><strong>Position Overview</strong><p>We are seeking experienced Underground Electricians for an exciting underground mine development project in western Nunavut. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled electricians to work on a major mining project with potential for long-term engagement based on performance.</p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><ul><li>Perform electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs in underground mining environments</li><li>Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems including motors, controls, lighting, and power distribution</li><li>Work with high and low voltage electrical systems in underground mining operations</li><li>Ensure all electrical work meets safety standards and mining regulations</li><li>Collaborate with other trades and mining personnel on development projects</li><li>Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used</li><li>Follow all safety protocols and participate in safety meetings</li></ul><strong>Required Qualifications</strong><ul><li><strong>Red Seal Electrician certification preferred</strong> (or Journeyman Electrician with equivalent experience)</li><li><strong>Underground mining experience required</strong> - non-negotiable</li><li><strong>Common Core Training or equivalent mining safety certification required</strong></li><li>Valid driver&#39;s license</li><li>Ability to work in remote camp environments</li><li>Physical fitness for underground work conditions</li><li>Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills</li></ul><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong><ul><li>Previous experience with mining electrical systems</li><li>Experience with underground development projects</li><li>Familiarity with mining equipment electrical systems</li><li>Additional safety certifications (H2S, First Aid, etc.)</li></ul><strong>What We Offer</strong><ul><li>Competitive hourly rates</li><li>FIFO arrangements from Edmonton</li><li>Camp accommodations provided</li><li>Opportunity for long-term engagement (several months+)</li><li>Work with a leading mining company on major development project</li><li>Full support from Sideworx Connect dispatch team</li></ul><strong>Work Environment</strong><ul><li>Underground mining environment</li><li>Remote location with camp accommodations</li><li>Rotation schedule (details to be confirmed)</li><li>Team-oriented work environment</li><li>Safety-focused culture</li></ul><p>Sideworx connect is a Staffing & Recruiting agency looking for this role for their client.</p></p></p>
