<h3>Overview of role</h3>
<p>WestJet is seeking a dynamic and strategic NDC (New Distribution Capability) product analyst to lead the design, development, and delivery of cutting-edge airline distribution solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of IATA's NDC standards, airline distribution ecosystems, and product management principles. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance customer experiences, drive business value, and shape the future of airline retailing.</p>
<h3>Product Strategy and Vision</h3>
<ul>
<li>Define and communicate a compelling product vision and roadmap for NDC, aligning with business goals and industry trends.</li>
<li>Research and analyze advancements in NDC standards, competitor offerings, and market opportunities.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Stakeholder Collaboration</h3>
<ul>
<li>Lead feedback touchpoints with travel agencies, GDSs, and internal teams to gather and prioritize requirements.</li>
<li>Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and understanding of deliverables.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Product Development</h3>
<ul>
<li>Translate business requirements into detailed product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.</li>
<li>Lead Jira intake with key NDC vendors to prioritize the request backlog and work on sprint planning.</li>
<li>Develop and maintain NDC Partner Hub content to share the NDC strategy, resources, and key information with travel agencies, aggregators, and other stakeholders.</li>
<li>Leverage insights from the IATA Airline Retailing Maturity (ARM) Index to assess and enhance the organization’s capabilities, aligning product strategies with industry benchmarks.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Process Development and Optimization</h3>
<ul>
<li>Develop and refine product development processes to ensure efficiency, scalability, and alignment with business goals.</li>
<li>Facilitate a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and resolving process bottlenecks and fostering team innovation.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Performance</h3>
<ul>
<li>Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and track metrics to identify areas for improvement.</li>
<li>Continuously optimize our product based on user feedback, data insights, and changing market needs.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Education and qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's Degree in Business, Statistics, or Economics is preferred.</li>
<li>5+ years of experience in product management or a related role, preferably within airline distribution or travel technology.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of IATA NDC standards, schemas, and protocols.</li>
<li>Familiarity with the IATA Airline Retailing Maturity (ARM) Index and its application in product development and industry alignment.</li>
<li>Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.</li>
<li>Analytical mindset with experience in leveraging data to inform decisions.</li>
<li>Familiarity with airline revenue management, merchandising, or retailing strategies.</li>
<li>Technical knowledge of APIs, XML/JSON, and distribution technology platforms.</li>
<li>Experience managing/implementing products or initiatives.</li>
<li>High-level strategic thinking and problem-solving skills; ability to convert big ideas into reality.</li>
<li>Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and presentation skills to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical audiences.</li>
<li>Strong quantitative and research skills with proven data interpretation capabilities.</li>
<li>Passion for knowledge sharing, learning, and teamwork.</li>
<li>Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills.</li>
<li>Proficiency in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint.</li>
<li>Strong data and analytical skills with a track record of providing strategic recommendations.</li>
<li>Experience with ATPCO, GDS platforms, or Sabre PSS is considered an asset.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Distribution Strategy, airline/travel vendors, and third-party distribution models is an asset.</li>
</ul>
