This is the fuel that helps us tackle the major challenges of our time.   </p>Job Description<br><br><p><strong><em>*Locations for Role: Toronto; Ottawa; Kingston; North Bay; Montreal</em></strong></p><p>We are actively seeking a technical engineer with infrastructure detailed design for our bridge team. The bridge team works collaboratively with our divisional team across Ontario. </p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Leading in producing engineering products for bridge rehabilitation and new design projects from concept through construction to meet customer quality requirements.</strong></li><li>Complete <strong>detailed structural design calculations and analysis.</strong></li><li>Work independently and as part of a team to define problems, establish work scope, prepare budgets and schedules, plan the work, and provide technical direction and oversight.</li><li>Prepare and check <strong>detailed engineering models, drawings, specifications, quantities, cost estimates, and technical reports.</strong></li><li><strong>Develop</strong> and <strong>review designs</strong> for new bridges and<strong> bridge rehabilitation</strong>.</li><li>Provide expertise and services related to the evaluation, inspection, and r<strong>ehabilitation of transportation structures.</strong></li><li>Review cost estimates, specifications, and tender documents prepared by junior engineers.</li><li>Coordinate and collaborate with other engineering disciplines and departments, including highway, foundation, environmental, drainage, and electrical.</li><li>Maintain effective working relationships with clients.</li><li>Perform project management duties, including assembling and managing project teams, controlling budgets and schedules, ensuring quality control, and managing client interactions.</li><li>Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and less experienced Engineers.</li><li>Ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.</li></ul>Qualifications<br><br><ul><li>Bachelor or Master degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.</li><li><strong>Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).</strong></li><li><strong>Minimum 15 years of progressive design experience for MTO and municipalities projects involves steel and concrete bridge structures in Ontario.</strong></li><li>Must be able to lead detailed design and contract preparation together with team member and as self-directed manner.</li><li>Proficient user of <strong>structural analysis software (Midas and CSiBridge)</strong>.</li><li>Sound and in-depth knowledge in <strong>MTO standards and policies, Highway Bridge Design Code (CSA-S6), AASHTO and ARIMA Codes.</strong></li><li>Ability to provide construction liaison and act as<strong> Contract Administrator</strong>.</li><li>Ability to review and sign-off of technical design reports.</li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills.</li><li>Sound understanding of other disciplines scope and ability to liaise.</li><li>Possess a valid driver’s license.</li></ul><br><br>Additional Information<br><br><p>Egis Canada is an equal opportunities employer offering a competitive salary and benefits to those with the skills suited to the needs of our clients. </p><p>We welcome and encourage applications from people with disabilities.
