This is the fuel that helps us tackle the major challenges of our time.   </p>Job Description<br><br><p><strong>Job Overview</strong></p><p>Lead the design, integration, and commissioning of signaling and Automatic Train Control (ATC) systems for a major urban LRT project. This role requires deep expertise in Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC), Automatic Train Protection (ATP), and Automatic Train Operation (ATO) systems for light rail transit applications.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Lead the design and engineering of CBTC/ATC signaling systems for the LRT alignment, including wayside and onboard subsystems</li><li>Oversee integration of signaling systems with other LRT subsystems including OCS, communications, SCADA, and vehicle systems</li><li>Develop and review signaling system specifications, interface control documents, and safety cases in accordance with EN 50126/50128/50129 and AREMA standards</li><li>Manage signaling system verification, validation, and commissioning activities including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)</li><li>Coordinate with the client, technical advisors, and systems contractors on signaling design reviews and approvals</li><li>Provide technical leadership for underpass and grade separation signaling designs interfacing with existing rail corridors</li><li>Mentor junior signaling engineers and review their technical deliverables</li><li>Support OMSF signaling and train control system design for vehicle movements and yard operations</li></ul>Qualifications<br><br><p><strong>Competencies</strong></p><ul><li>Professional Engineering license (P.Eng.) in Ontario or eligibility for licensure</li><li>Demonstrated experience delivering CBTC systems (Alstom Urbalis, Bombardier Cityflo, Thales SelTrac, or equivalent)</li><li>Expert knowledge of ATP, ATO, ATS subsystems and interlocking design</li><li>Experience with IEEE 1474 CBTC standards and CENELEC railway safety standards (EN 50126/50128/50129)</li><li>Proficiency in signaling simulation tools and system modeling</li><li>Track record of successful signaling commissioning on urban rail transit projects</li><li>Strong stakeholder management and technical communication skills</li><li>Experience with Canadian rail transit projects preferred</li><li><p>10+ years professional expirience in rail signalling system design </p></li></ul><br><br>Additional Information<br><br><p>Egis Canada is an equal opportunities employer offering a competitive salary and benefits to those with the skills suited to the needs of our clients. </p><p>We welcome and encourage applications from people with disabilities.
