This is a crucial leadership role where the top priorities are enhancing and securing the <strong>Cloud Infrastructure</strong> and managing the core <strong>Network and Security</strong> needs. The successful candidate will be a hands-on technical leader who can also guide the team in new areas like DevOps, supporting the organization&#39;s technology environment across 40+ locations in Canada and the US.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Edmonton, AB (Onsite)</p><p><strong>Employment Type:</strong> Permanent Full-time</p><p><strong>Experience Required:</strong> Minimum 5+ years in a senior, relevant technical role.</p><p> </p><p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><p><strong>1. Cloud Infrastructure & Administration (Top Priority Skill)</strong></p><ul><li><p>Design, implement, and manage robust <strong>hybrid cloud infrastructure</strong> across <strong>AWS, Azure, and the M365 ecosystem</strong>.</p></li><li><p>Ensure system stability, performance tuning, and cost optimization across all cloud environments.</p></li></ul><p><strong>2. Network & Cybersecurity (Top Priority Skill / Instant Hire Factor)</strong></p><ul><li><p>Manage core network and security infrastructure.</p></li><li><p><strong>Conceptual knowledge of FortiGate firewalls and Meraki network gear is required</strong>, as these tools are basically used to manage all infrastructure and security needs.</p></li><li><p>Proactively manage the organization&#39;s security posture and implement controls using tools like those within the M365 ecosystem.</p></li></ul><p><strong>3. DevOps & Automation Guidance (Supporting Skill)</strong></p><ul><li><p><strong>Serve as the internal subject matter expert for foundational DevOps and automation</strong>, providing guidance to a team that is new to the practice.</p></li><li><p>Help the Manager <strong>demonstrate measurable ROI</strong> for new automation initiatives to continue to get leadership buy-in.</p></li><li><p>Design and implement foundational <strong>CI/CD pipelines</strong> and deployments using various tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.). The role is <strong>hands-on</strong> and requires a <strong>tech-agnostic</strong> approach.</p></li><li><p>Manage containerized workloads using technologies like <strong>Kubernetes or Docker</strong> (either is fine).</p></li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p><p><strong>Experience & Leadership:</strong></p><ul><li><p><strong>Minimum 5+ years</strong> in a senior systems administration, network infrastructure, or related IT operations role.</p></li><li><p>Expertise in <strong>AWS, Azure, and M365 administration</strong>.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Technical Skills:</strong></p><ul><li><p><strong>Cloud Platforms:</strong> AWS, Azure, and M365 (including relevant security and administration components).</p></li><li><p><strong>Network/Security Tools: Conceptual understanding of FortiGate and Meraki</strong> is essential.</p></li><li><p><strong>Automation:</strong> Practical experience with CI/CD and deployment tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.) and containerization (<strong>Kubernetes or Docker</strong>).</p></li></ul><p><strong>What Makes an Instant Hire:</strong></p><ul><li><p><strong>Direct, hands-on experience managing and configuring FortiGate firewalls and Meraki network gear.</strong></p></li></ul><p> </p></p></p>
