Our mission is to prevent, intervene, empower and lead where and when women need us most. At YW we strive to provide an environment where students pursuing a career in the social services can learn, grow, and thrive. We promote a culture of learning and professional development and we aim to support practicum placements wherever possible. YW Calgary works with various organizations and affiliations in coordination of practicum student opportunities.</p><p><strong>We appreciate all applications, however there are only a limited number of placements available each year. All applications will be kept on file if there are no current opportunities available or an immediate match cannot be found. </strong></p><p>As a multi-disciplinary organization, we offer practicum placements to students in a variety of faculties. <em>Some</em> of these may include:</p><ul><li>Child Studies (Child and Youth Care Counsellor)</li><li>Early Childhood Education</li><li>Social Work</li><li>Counselling Psychology</li></ul><p><strong>Practicum Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>A Police Information Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search and a Child Intervention Record Check are required due to the nature of our work. </li><li>The desire to contribute to our cause and support women and their families thrive in a safe and equitable community.</li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team.</li><li>Dedication to continuous learning and growth.</li><li>Motivation to contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive work culture and environment.</li></ul><p>If you are interested in a practicum opportunity with YW Calgary, please apply and include your resume, cover letter and any other relevant documents specific to your practicum. </p></p></p>
