Job Description
Watershed Technologies Inc. is seeking a Building Automation Systems (BAS) Technician / Controls Technician to support the commissioning, troubleshooting, programming, integration, and performance verification of building automation and HVAC control systems. The successful candidate will work with low-voltage control devices, BAS software tools, and network communications to ensure building systems operate as designed.<BR><BR>Key Responsibilities<BR><BR>- Test, inspect, commission, and troubleshoot low-voltage control systems and field devices (e.g., sensors, actuators, relays, valves) and related peripherals<BR>- Support commissioning and troubleshooting of BAS hardware and network communications, including TCP/IP and MSTP protocols<BR>- Configure and verify BAS performance and sequences of operation for HVAC equipment and building systems<BR>- Develop and modify BAS graphics and interfaces (e.g., Niagara N4) and validate system operation<BR>- Assist with BAS network and protocol integration, including BACnet and Modbus networks<BR>- Simulate and verify sequences of operation to confirm parameters and overall system performance<BR>- Support installation and operation of BAS-related electrical/electronic equipment and system components<BR>- Complete job documentation, commissioning checklists, deficiency lists, and service reports<BR>- Communicate with project and service teams to resolve issues efficiently and professionally<BR><BR>Requirements<BR><BR>Education<BR><BR> Diploma or post-secondary education in Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology, Automation, Controls, or a related field<BR> 1 3+ years of experience in BAS/controls commissioning, troubleshooting, HVAC controls, or related work (or equivalent)<BR><BR>Technical Skills<BR><BR> Commissioning and troubleshooting of BAS control devices (sensors, actuators, relays, valves)<BR> Familiarity with Niagara N4 (or similar BAS platforms) for graphics and system operation<BR> Understanding of HVAC equipment and common control strategies<BR> Knowledge of BAS communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP, and MSTP<BR> Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently on-site<BR> Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills<BR><BR>Other<BR><BR> Valid drivers license and ability to travel to client sites (as required)<BR> Ability to work on-site at client locations across the GTA; occasional after-hours work may be required during commissioning or service support<BR><BR>Assets (Nice to Have)<BR><BR>Experience with VFDs, HVAC equipment commissioning, or control panel troubleshooting<BR><BR>Ability to interpret electrical drawings and control schematics<BR><BR>How to Apply<BR><BR>Please email your resume to: <BR><BR>We thank all applicants for their interest.
