Our talent specialists provide recruitment services and customized solutions to find quality candidates.<br><br> Our member, <strong>Forest Fence & Deck,</strong> is looking for a <strong>Carpentry Foreman</strong> to join their team in <strong>Richmond Hill, ON</strong>. <br><br><strong>Title:</strong> Carpenter Crew Foreman for Decks and Fences<br /><strong>Job Type:</strong> Full-time<br /><strong>Hours:</strong> We work a five-day work week consisting of 5 - 8-10 hour shifts.<br /><strong>Salary:</strong> $30-$40/hr<br><br><strong>Working Conditions:</strong> Require standing, sitting, and lifting for long periods of time, lifting approximately 50lb throughout the day. The work is outdoors so comfort with various weather conditions as well as heights and ladders is required. Forest is entering a new phase and is seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to help us grow!<br><br><strong>What we are looking for:</strong><br />The crew foreman will be a skilled carpenter who takes pride in their work and strives to achieve a high level of quality and job site safety. Forest Fence & Deck is a Pro Platinum Trex installer and we take a lot of pride in perfection. The job location will vary but centered around Richmond Hill and GTA. A company truck will be provided to go on site and return.<br><br> The crew foreman will be someone with experience leading a small team of crew labourers, while being able to effectively train them on skill advancement and safety.<br><br><strong>Job Responsibilities:</strong><br /><ul><li>Frame/finish both wood and composite decks according to both custom and standard designs with the ability to read and interpret permit plans and drawings</li><li>Lead/be part of a team of 1-3 <span >carpenters/labourers</span> that will assist with doing the deck installation</li><li>Liaise with project manager to ensure organized and accurate work is delivered to the customers specifications within budget and on time</li><li>Follow industry safety practices</li><li>Assist in managing the equipment/vehicle fleet by arranging repairs and regular maintenance</li><li>Maintain clean jobs sites</li><li>Using knowledge of building materials, construction methods, and tools & equipment to complete deck builds in an efficient and safe manner</li><li>Attention to detail and ability to complete tasks on time is an asset</li><li>Future duties may change or be added as business needs change</li><li>Ability and willingness to dig post holes and footings when necessary. Most will be done with machinery</li></ul><strong>Requirements:</strong><br /><ul><li>5+ years&#39; experience with framing and carpentry, at last 2 of which is with building decks</li><li>Must be capable of managing the entire building process from start to finish including understanding of foundation allowances, marking and layout</li><li>Able to determine landing location and heights and able to draw, cut out and construct stairs</li><li>Skilled carpenter with understanding and knowledge of building code and building methodologies</li><li>Previous experience with Trex is an asset</li><li>First Aid skills and/or certificates are considered assets</li><li>WHMIS, Working at Heights, and other typical safety certifications are considered assets</li><li>Vehicle and valid G driver&#39;s license</li><li>Steel toed work boots</li></ul> If you are a motivated individual with a passion for construction and possess the necessary skills and experience, we invite you to apply for this position.
