As Armstrong continues to grow in manufacturing capacity and efficiency, we are looking for a dependable and hard-working individual who will be responsible for machining our products, contributing ideas to improve efficiencies, and adhering to all health and safety policies and best practices.</p><p><br /></p><p>This position is based out of Scarborough, Ontario.</p><p><br /></p><p>Key accountabilities of this position are:</p><ul><li>Responsible for setup and operation of CNC Lathe and Mill machinery</li><li>Machine product to specified requirements as defined on Job Travelers, Drawings, and Sketches. Must be able to read blueprints and various symbols regarding tolerances, surface finishes, etc.</li><li>Pre-inspection of parts to ensure product compliance is achievable prior to metal removal process.</li><li>Verify tooling requirements are met in advanced of the commencement of each job. Escalate any issues/concerns to supervisor.</li><li>Machine product at optimal conditions to maintain cost effectiveness of machining process.</li><li>Ability to read and understand programs to a degree that will allow you to modify / edit to meet specified tolerances and surface finishes.</li><li>Enter codes specifying speeds, feed and cut of the tool path for CNC machine tools</li><li>Maintain tooling in peak conditions.</li><li>Verify dimensions of parts machined using precision measuring instruments as required.</li><li>Practice excellent general housekeeping, including but not limited to, his/her work area, chip removal, floor areas, benches, storage areas to ensure a safe work environment.</li><li>Perform daily machine checks per preventative maintenance program and safety procedures.</li><li>Use of overhead crane to setup and move parts.</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>What We're Looking For</p><p><br /></p><p>To thrive in this role, you should bring:</p><ul><li>Minimum 5-years' CNC Machining experience, consisting of machine setup & operation</li><li>General machinist certification an asset.</li><li>Working experience with large casings & fabricated components</li><li>An analytical approach to machining of product.</li><li>Ability to read & interpret blueprints, drawings, charts & tables.</li><li>A motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.</li><li>Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail.</li><li>Previous experience working with overhead cranes considered an asset.</li><li>Creative problem-solving skills, conflict management within different organizations (centralized and matrix organizational structures.</li><li>Strong, team-oriented skills with the ability to work independently</li><li>Excellent communication, both written and verbal, in English</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Range: $22-$25/hour</p><p><br /></p><p>Why Armstrong Fluid Technology?</p><p>By joining us, youll become part of a global community dedicated to pushing the boundaries of fluid-flow technology.
