We strive to have employees that are multi-faceted and versatile with a varietyofskills.<br /></p><p><br /></p><p>We currently have an opening for <span >aJuniorGeotechnicalEITin</span> ourLondon, Ontariooffice.</p><p><br /></p><p>The successful candidate will have the following:<br /></p><p><br /></p><p>Educational & Experience Requirements:</p><ul><li>Bachelorsor Mastersdegree in civil engineering with an emphasis ingeotechnical.</li></ul><ul><li>Eligible for professional registration (EITor P.Eng.).</li></ul><ul><li>Minimum 1 year of relevant professional experience (preferably in consulting) would be considered an asset.</li></ul><ul><li>Experience and interest insoil and bedrock classification, overburden and bedrock drilling methods,general construction activities, <span >materialstestingand</span> inspection services.</li></ul><ul><li>Familiarity with software packages specific to <span >geotechnicalengineering(GeoStudio,Rocscienceslope</span> stabilitymodelling programs)and pavement design</li></ul><ul><li>Excellent writing and verbal communication skills (English), strong organizational skills, and time management skills and the ability to prioritize several assignments at one timein order todeliver quality work on time and on budget.</li></ul><ul><li>Ability and interestto undertakeextensive fieldwork, in a range of weather conditions.</li></ul><p></p><p>Main Duties:</p><p>The successful candidate will be able <span >todemonstrateexperience</span> in the following:</p><p></p><ul><li>Provide field and technical support to a wide variety of <span >geotechnicalprojects</span>;including the preparation and supervision of field programs, data collection, data analysis, and technical report writing and proposal preparation.</li></ul><ul><li>Design and conduct field <span >investigations,including:drilling</span> and logging, test pitting, soil and bedrock <span >characterization,monitoringwell</span> installation, hydraulic response testing, soil, groundwater, sediment and surface water sampling, installation of groundwater instrumentation, etc.</li></ul><ul><li><span >Assistingintermediate</span> and senior staff prepare technical geotechnical <span >reportsincluding,geotechnical</span> site characterization and design (foundations, slope <span >stability,retainingstructures,</span> settlement analysis, etc.), and groundwater and surface water monitoring reports.</li></ul><ul><li>Assistingwith field materials engineering and construction services as needed, including field testing and inspection of aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and construction <span >andearthworkssupervision.</span></li></ul><ul><li>Interpretation and application of provincial and federal acts and regulations.</li></ul><ul><li>Adhering to all company policies.</li></ul><ul><li>Other duties asrequired.</li></ul><p></p><p>Position:</p><ul><li>Contract until December2026</li></ul><ul><li>37.5 hours/week (varies with client workload)</li></ul><ul><li>Must have a valid drivers licenseand a reliable vehicle</li></ul><p></p><p>Pay Range: $26.67 - $30.77 CAD hourly<br /></p><p><br /></p><p>In alignment with Ontarios Employment Standards Act and paytransparency requirements, GEMTEC includes the expected compensation range in publicly advertised job postings for roles based in Ontario. This range reflects what GEMTECreasonably anticipatespaying for this position.
