<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p>The Machine Operator (Team Lead) is a key member of our production team, responsible for operating and monitoring gummy production equipment while leading a small team on the line. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role ensures smooth production flow, compliance with GMP standards, and effective team coordination in a regulated manufacturing environment.</p><p>This is a permanent, full-time opportunity to join a growing team and directly support JY Care’s commitment to high-quality Canadian manufacturing.</p><p><strong>POSITION DESCRIPTION:</strong></p><p><strong>The Machine Operator (Team Lead) is responsible for:</strong></p><p><strong>Production & Equipment Operation</strong></p><ul><li>Operate and monitor gummy production equipment (cooking, depositing, demoulding, drying, etc.).</li><li>Perform in-process checks and coordinate with QA/QC on quality issues.</li><li>Troubleshoot basic equipment problems and escalate to Maintenance when required.</li></ul><p><strong>Team Leadership & Workflow</strong></p><ul><li>Lead a small team (3–4 staff) on the line, assigning daily tasks and monitoring workflow.</li><li>Ensure compliance with GMP, SOP, and Health & Safety standards.</li><li>Provide on-the-job training and coaching to team members.</li></ul><p><strong>Sanitation & Compliance</strong></p><ul><li>Oversee daily sanitation, changeovers, and adherence to cleanroom protocols.</li><li>Complete and maintain accurate production and compliance records.</li></ul><p><strong>Reporting & Communication</strong></p><ul><li>Track and report production metrics (output, downtime, deviations) to the Production Manager.</li><li>Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including QA, QC, formulator and Maintenance.</li></ul><p><strong>Technical Support & Operations</strong></p><ul><li>Support installation, set-up, and programming of equipment.</li><li>Provide demonstrations of equipment operation for new machine operators.</li><li>Communicate safety, control, and operating features of equipment in a clear and concise manner.</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>2–3 years’ experience in food, confectionery, or pharmaceutical production.</li><li>Previous experience as a Line Leader / Team Lead or demonstrated leadership ability.</li><li>Strong understanding of GMP / HACCP and ability to supervise others.</li><li>Mechanically inclined; able to perform minor adjustments.</li><li>Good communication, reliability, and ability to manage a small team.</li><li>Physically able to stand for long periods and handle repetitive tasks, including lifting materials of up to 20–30 kg.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese is considered a strong asset.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>CORE COMPETENCIES:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Leadership:</strong> Ability to supervise, train, and motivate a small team.</li><li><strong>Quality & Compliance: </strong>Strong knowledge of GMP/HACCP in regulated production.</li><li><strong>Problem-Solving: </strong>Skilled at troubleshooting and escalating equipment issues.</li><li><strong>Teamwork & Communication: </strong>Works effectively with cross-functional teams.</li><li><strong>Reliability: </strong>Consistent, dependable, and safety-conscious.</li></ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p>At JY Care, you’ll be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking team dedicated to developing innovative, sustainable health and wellness products.
