<p><b>Job Purpose</b></p><p>The Network Engineer IV serves as a senior technical resource within the OnX Canada infrastructure team. In addition to advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance, this role leads network design, high-level architecture planning, and complex project execution. The Engineer IV will serve as a subject matter expert, mentor junior engineers, and ensure customer networks operate at peak efficiency and security.</p><p><b>Essential Functions</b></p><ul><li>Lead complex network design, configuration, and implementation projects.</li><li>Provide advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for critical issues.</li><li>Oversee creation and maintenance of system documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.</li><li>Perform network capacity analysis and proactively plan upgrades or adjustments.</li><li>Act as a technical escalation point for Network Engineers II and other team members.</li><li>Participate in and lead on-call support rotations for critical incidents.</li><li>Perform onsite work at customer locations and oversee vendor coordination.</li><li><b>Please note that shift work may be required for this position</b></li></ul><p><b>Education</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.</li><li>Cisco <b>CCNP (required) or CCIE</b> certification strongly preferred.</li><li>Network+ certification.</li></ul><p><b>Experience/Background</b></p><ul><li>10+ years enterprise IT infrastructure networking experience.</li><li>Proven experience in mission-critical, 24x7 high availability environments.</li><li>Mastery of troubleshooting tools such as ping, traceroute, nslookup, dig, Wireshark.</li><li>Advanced understanding of IP subnetting and variable length subnet masks.</li><li>Expertise with dynamic routing protocols <b>(BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP)</b> and longest-match qualifier concepts.</li><li><b>Experience with Cisco Security Cloud and Cisco Secure Access is a plus</b></li><li><b>Experience with Infoblox</b></li><li>Advanced experience with wireless controllers and access points administration and troubleshooting.</li><li>Extensive hands on experience in the configuration and management of <b>Cisco ACI, VxLAN EVPN, Cisco Nexus Dashboard, SD-Access, SD-WAN</b></li><li>Strong working knowledge of Cisco products and technologies, such as <b>Umbrella, wireless, Catalyst Center, ISE (TACACS, MAB, Dot1x), SNA</b></li><li>Experience with stateful and Next Generation Firewalls including <b>Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA and FTD+FMC, CheckPoint</b>.</li><li>Experience setting up Site-to-Site VPNs along with client VPNs</li><li>Significant experience with hybrid or blended cloud/on-prem environments (AWS, Azure).</li></ul><p><b>Special Knowledge/Skills</b></p><ul><li>Ability to analysis and improve on existing systems and architectures.</li><li>Able to function efficiently in a multi-task environment and work under pressure.</li><li>Expert communication skills, including the ability to document and demonstrate procedures and processes.</li><li>A strong team player, strong interpersonal and team building skills</li><li>Other industry certifications (e.g. VMware, Microsoft Certifications) definite assets.</li><li>ITIL certification is preferred.</li></ul><p>#LI-Onsite #LI-PK1</p><p>Due to U.S. Government requirements applicable to foreign-owned telecommunications providers, non-US citizens may be required to submit to an extensive government agency background check which will necessitate disclosure of sensitive Personally Identifiable Information.</p>
