<p>Personal Care Attendant(Job Number: </p><p>Primary Location:ON-MarkhamClinicalEmployee Type:Casual</p><p>Description:</p><p>The Personal Care Attendant (PCA) responsibilities include: giving out meal trays to patient; preparing patients to receive nutrition (i.e. position patient for meals, feed patient, cutting up patient's food to aid digestion); assisting patient with dressing and grooming; notifying RPN if patient's condition changes; porter duties and light housekeeping; assisting with patient laundry; folding and re-stocking linen carts; counting and tracking supply inventory; cleaning and storing shared equipment; one on one or group activities with patients; complying with and commitment to patient safety responsibilities and corresponding hospital plans, policies and procedures in order to ensure a safe environment for patients.</p><p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<br><br>ï‚§Giving out meal trays to patient;<br><br>ï‚§Preparing patients to receive nutrition (i.e. position patient for meals, feed patient, cutting up patient's food to aid digestion);<br><br>ï‚§assisting patient with dressing and grooming;<br><br>ï‚§Notifying RPN if patient's condition changes;<br><br>ï‚§Porter duties and light housekeeping; assisting with patient laundry;<br><br>ï‚§Folding and re-stocking linen carts; counting and tracking supply inventory;<br><br>ï‚§Cleaning and storing shared equipment;<br><br>ï‚§Complying with and commitment to patient safety responsibilities, policies and procedures in order to ensure a safe environment for patients.<br><br>ï‚§Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures.<br><br>ï‚§Complies with all Canadian provincial and federal privacy legislation.<br><br>ï‚§All other duties as required.</p><p>Qualifications:</p><p>QUALIFICATIONS:<br><br>ï‚§OSSD or equivalent<br><br>ï‚§Completion of a Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) program<br><br>ï‚§Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend the English language, Knowledge of other languages an asset<br><br>ï‚§Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and other relevant legislation<br><br>ï‚§Knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)<br><br>ï‚§Knowledge of Hospital and departmental policies, procedures, guidelines, protocols and practices<br><br>ï‚§Knowledge of Emergency Assistance Code<br><br>ï‚§Experience in customer service<br><br>ï‚§Experience with the vulnerable sectors including Seniors<br><br>ï‚§Positive and caring attitude<br><br>ï‚§Excellent communication and interpersonal skills<br><br>ï‚§Ability to lift over 60 lbs. on a constant basis<br><br>ï‚§Ability to handle occasional to moderate exertion (i.e. constant standing, walking and climbing) on an occasional to frequent basis<br><br>ï‚§Good attendance is required</p>Create Your Resume First
