Monday to Friday 4:00 pm to 12:00 am  
(75 hours biweekly)
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  <br>
Performs a variety of routine laboratory procedures to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.  <br>
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:  </p><ul><li>Data enter all patient and test information for requisitions in an accurate and timely manner  </li><li>Verify the completeness of all documentation and file related paperwork  </li><li>Handle STAT, verbal, critical and special instructions as required  </li><li>Process add-on test requests and subsequent specimen selection  </li><li>Process all specimens including receiving, sorting, labeling, separation, and placing in appropriate area.  </li><li>Follow all guidelines for the handling of infections material  </li><li>Prepare specimens and documentation for reference testing  </li><li>Ensure type of sample is correct for specified test and sent to correct reference laboratory  </li><li>Required to observe all safety precautions in the performance of all duties.  </li><li>Other duties as assigned.  </li></ul>
SKILLED KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:  <br>
Knowledge<ul><li>Graduate of a Laboratory Technician program or equivalent previous experience.  </li><li>Medical terminology an asset.  </li></ul>
Technical Skills<ul><li>Excellent Data Entry Skills required   </li></ul>Social Processing Skills <ul><li>Ability to multitask and work in a team environment.  </li><li>Attention to detail and organizational skills are essential.  </li><li>Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.  </li><li>Ability to work independently.  </li><li>Excellent communication skills.  </li></ul>
